I get it but for the benefit of the sport as a whole..going for the "experience" defeats the purpose...IMOIt doesn't accomplish anything....to us. Unfortunately to others it does.

In my opinion, back to the thread here, Black Ops are good enough to go and place top ten. Sucks for all involved.I get it but for the benefit of the sport as a whole..going for the "experience" defeats the purpose...IMO
This that true that camerons going back to coed and some girls are going to be on aces??I get it but for the benefit of the sport as a whole..going for the "experience" defeats the purpose...IMO

We actually close registration because it helps us get properly organized for the event.
Not to mention expensive. Honestly if you got an at large bid and knew your team truly had a chance to place or at least make it to finals, then I would say go, but there are many programs going to just say they went to Worlds. I think partially for marketing and promotional services for future Worlds teams at their gym.
this is random but about 7 of those 20 people on the team that got 23rd at nca are actually on black ops now :)I am aware of that Andrew....it is just a judgement call that gyms make for different reasons...and it's their right to make that call....I prefer there to be less at large bids given...a bid (any bid) should be much more difficult to get...IMO...I mean 23rd place in sm coed getting a bid at NCA (2011)....what does that accomplish?
huh?this is random but about 7 of those 20 people on the team that got 23rd at nca are actually on black ops now :)
But SOMEONE has to place last. SOMEONE has to not make it to finals. There have to be gyms there that have to go for the experience to grow their programs/level 5 teams. No one becomes a finalist overnight. Think of gyms that are 1-3rd year level 5 teams. Haven't been to Worlds, yet...WHEN should they go? Should they keep passing up their at large bids year after year until they have a chance? What if their athletes WANT to go to worlds else they're going to be looking at other gyms? Why is it wrong for them to go? They did earn the right to be there...and it's in their best interest as a business to do so, regardless of their placement.
What if your thought were acted out in every sport...let's take the Lion's share of athletes who try to qualify for the Olympics....I mean...they need a last place too...and those people would love to say yes to getting to be an olympian...IMO...terrible idea...product watered down....in this country..it is ok to strive to be at the top....money earners...sports stars....we as a society are getting so set on EVERYTHING being "fair". I want it to be fair...if you have the same amount of talent...you get the same skills...you work as hard....then you too can go to World's...stop the feel good socialism mindset of everybody "deserves" something....we don't get what we WISH for..we get what we WORK for...period.Who says they're not being honest? I agree that not doing well year after year is not a great thing, but is not going at all year after year any better? Im seriously asking the fact of the matter is the vast majority of athletes are mot going to medal at worlds The vast majority probably just want to say they went So yes, if they're able to afford it, I would say the parents would be happy to pay for the experience. Maybe mot year after year, but they have a choice to stay with that program or not year after year.
