Can Competitions Combine Co-ed And All Girl Divisions?

I was talking to another girl about this and was wondering if competition brands could combine co-ed and all girl divisions if there wasn't enough competition . I know you can combine small and large, but was just curious if the guys could compete with the girls?

from what i hear......yes...if there isnt at least 2 in the divisions

In Nova Scotia we dont have very much competition, so for all of the competitions held around the province all of the All-Girl and Coed divisions are combined, except at our nationals (CheerExpo) which brings in tons of competition from all around the country.

I don't know if this is exactly what you want because it's not all star related. But my freshman year at UCA nationals (2009) we we're large JV (all girl) and we competed against other teams that we're coed. Personally, I found it frustrating because I felt that at that level the teams with guys had a slight advantage over the all girl teams. I believe that they have changed it now to co-ed and all girl but I'm not sure because now I'm on varsity.

"For Junior Co-Ed Levels 3, 4 and 5, if there is only ONE co-ed competing in a respective level, then that level must be combined into

one Junior division (i.e. Four Junior Level 3 teams and one Junior Co-Ed Level 3 team = 5 Junior Level 3 teams for competition). If the
Junior teams were split into Small and Large, then the Co-Ed team must be placed with the teams closest to its size.

For Senior Co-Ed Levels 3 and 4, if there is only ONE co-ed competing in a respective level, then that level must be combined into one
Senior division (i.e. Four Senior Level 3 teams and one Senior Co-Ed Level 3 team = Five Senior Level 3 teams for competition). If the

Senior teams were split into Small and Large, then the Co-Ed team must be placed with the teams closest to its size."

So the answer to your question would be yes. There would need to be two co-ed teams to have its own division.

Read page 4, the highlighted part. It's not about combining; it's actually about splitting.

If there are at least 2 teams in the small/large or in the small/medium/large, then they WILL be split.

EP's that are part of USASF are required to do it this way.
