There are a huge amount of crazy mamas paying some of these kids $50-$65 per 30 second shout out. I hope these kids take advantage of every financial opportunity they can while they have the ability to do so.

Yea agreed with the above. As a medical professional, it's a little over the top. Most of the responses I've seen from people in or close to the program disagree with this POV as well. This article got plenty of attention on Twitter, with most agreeing to what’s being said.

yes, this. It’s not a new rule. The changes made recently were to other parts of the rule book, but it shows as the whole thing having been updated.
I don't disagree but I also would not be surprised in the least if the filmmakers knew in advance they would have an obstacle filming there and used the opportunity to create a little more drama. Many places require permits to film and it is no secret among the cheer community how proprietary Varsity/Flocheer etc are.Whether the rule is new or has been there since the inception of NCA, I am willing to bet that the only reason why Netflix is agreeing to work with Varsity is because there was a "reminder" of said policy. Netflix was pretty vocal about their disapproval of Varsity so to me there's only one reason why they would do an about face, particularly since they have their own film crew and had no problems getting the video footage they needed last year at Daytona.
im a newbie when its comes to college cheer rules and all. but can navarro accept a check from the ellen show, like i thought college sports couldnt take money in that way.
