Oh yeah I did forget about that. Then that would be a valid reason for Angel to be there and be home schooled.
Disclaimer: I am not these girls parents and they have every right to make decisions/choices what they feel is best for their child/children.

I understand its not for everyone :)-my kids enjoyed HS but there are other aspects of being a teenager - but like I said it was just my opinion and call me old fashion.

I almost wrote a similar disclaimer.
They may be missing out on what a normal childhood is, but I am willing to bet (and hope) that all of our elite cheer athletes have created memories of their own that few understand. I hope that they all will look back on this as the time of their lives.

This is exactly what came to mind when I saw it on Twitter. It's great if she only has to practice on weekends but to fly travel whether by land or air is going to be daunting at some point. Jeez, every competition would be considered 'out of town' for her. I'm tired just thinking about it. Either way, good luck to her. She's a good kid.

To be honest I am totally confused by this situation both from a cheerleading perspective but also one of a parent. Gabi seems like a very happy, smart, hardworking kid and her parents obviously love her but I am worried about her in terms of her fear to go into new situations like going to school. I understand the first day is always difficult and different but it seems that she was overly anxious and I wonder if putting too much emphasis on cheerleading has changed her ability to cope? What is she going to do when cheerleading ends and she heads to college? She can't be in all star forever so I wonder how difficult it is going to be to cope with new situations outside of cheerleading? That being said even though I am a parent my son is not even 2 yet so I don't know how I would deal with a kid who is so exceptionally talented. It seems her parents see that and that's why they enrolled her in school but it still concerns me.

I just want to know where the money tree is for all these athlete families? I save all year so I can fly to my "vacation spot of choice" each summer but these kids fly around the country every weekend. I don't care what kind of deal you are getting. That's expensive!

I'm sure this will come off as completely ignorant so forgive me but I was hoping she'd go back to Top Gun. Can someone enlighten me as to why that wasn't an option?

In Gabi's case I'm going to assume that her parents have put away money for her from the camps and clinics she's done. I think she did quiet a few this summer. For other athletes I'm not sure. They may have sponsors. Or maybe their gofundme accounts have generous donators?

As a parent of a child that does an extreme comute to be on a high caliber team (120 miles each way)who is now a freshman. I am noticing that my cp has to give up any possibility of ever doing a high school sport, try out for the school play etc. due to her commitment to her team. It is a sacrifice that she is willing to make. In turn she has friends at cheer and at school but is not overly close with either due to her situation.
I also will add that she is a high honor student and school is the first priority... She has a goal to go into medicine and she/we would love to consider cheering or acro in college to help with that but in no way counting on it... All star is not forever and has a lot of positive attributes that will help mold her into a strong independent young lady.
I'm hoping she can continue to do well academically and athletically without having any regrets. I do encourage her to go to the Friday night football games, homecoming etc. time will tell!

That's the million dollar question. Was there concern she wouldn't make TGLC? Or did they blow up a bridge before they left? We may never know...

I don't know but it would have been a little bit more practical travel wise... 1 hr drive instead of 1 hr drive followed by waiting in airport and then a 2.5 hr flight.

Funny how these shows just happen to fall into Gabi's lap. 3rd youtube show (?) and one on actual tv I think..
