I wonder in an all virtual reality the role of FloCheer. Once a video is submitted, who owns the content, has rights to distribute it and how can it best be distributed? It could be very engaging or ho-hum depending on how everything is organized, produced, etc.
The following <article> touches on virtual broadcasting (below is from the virtual section). I'm definitely not a tech person, but I would imagine if CNN and ABC struggle with video streamed via home broadband, this is Varsity's ultimate dilemma with virtual live competitions.
The remote approach is already being taken by broadcasters like CNN and ABC News. But even some of the broadcast networks are struggling when they don’t have the right setup to support parts of their news programs, sometimes resulting in bad audio, drop-outs and picture issues for video interviews streamed via home broadband—which is a “best effort” solution. The fact that most home broadband connections are geared towards the downstream and not uplinks is one of the major challenges with this setup.
