We just competed in an NCA comp where 5 wild card bids are awarded. Can someone explain how they are awarded/what qualifies you for a wild card bid? Our team won 1st place, level 1 junior. Are these bids awarded based only on that particular competition results? Thanks!

Per Varsity's bid declaration:
When 5 Wild Card bids are awarded to the Summit, WILD CARD bids will go to the highest-scoring bid eligible teams across different levels. The levels are divided as follows: L1, L2, L3, L4, and L4.2/L5/L6.

In level 1, the Summit eligible teams are Jr Medium, Jr Small, Sr Medium, and Sr Small. Whatever team had the highest score within those four divisions would win the bid. If they already had a bid, or refuse WC bids, it would go to the next highest winning Level 1 score.

Example from Kissimmee Classic D2:
*Jr Level 1 (they did not have a Med and Sm division)
Venom Allstars Taipans Score 92.8986
*Sr Level 1 (they did not have a Med and Sm division)
Galaxy Athletics General Score 91.0145

Venom Allstars Taipans would win the bid since they had the highest score in level 1. Again, some gyms will not accept WC bids, and if that were the case it would go to the next highest score.
