I know that the way bids are awarded has been changed this year.

But the language they use is still is not perfectly clear (to me).
"WILDCARD bids will go to the highest scoring bid eligible teams across different levels." If 3 wild card bids are given, do they look at grand champ scores across all levels, and then take the top 3?

Say for example the top scores (in order) went to a L3, L5, L1 and L2, L4. But the L5 team already has a bid. So the comp awards WC bids to grand champs of L3, L1, and L2?

I would say they yes, as the level 5 is not eligible with a bid already.

My interest came from checking out how Gold Bids are awarded for US Finals. Their language states"
GOLD BIDS are the most prestigious bids that can be earned to The U.S. Finals! They are are awarded to one of the highest scoring eligible teams at U.S. Finals qualifier events throughout the season." It does not necessarily go to the highest scoring team. It is clearly stated that the event producer has full discretion as to how bids are given.

so if it’s 3 WC it’s not youth, junior, senior? Their wording is so clunky and confusing.

I don't think any of the Summit bids are set aside by age group any more. It is done by level. That is my understanding at least.

I remember rrading/seeing that the session winners (i would think highest scoring division/grand champs) get the gold bid.

That's what I thought too but this is what is on the website:

HOW DO TEAMS EARN A GOLD BID?
GOLD BIDS are awards that are earned at qualifier events. The qualifier’s event producer has the discretion to decide how to best award the GOLD BIDS among the highest scoring eligible teams. The reason this changes from event to event is because the quantity of GOLD BIDS awarded at a qualifier event is based on the number of teams competing at that event. The bigger the event, the more GOLD BIDS they will have to award! Since this does vary event to event, be sure to check with the event producer of your qualifier to see how many GOLD BIDS they will award, and how they plan to distribute them.
