This might only be my cheer team but we have a diet and rules. (5-5'3 - 90-100. 5'4-5'6 - 100-105 5'7-5'9 - 105-115). Unfortunately i and other girls do not fit however we are still on the team. I 5'1 130 lbs am now on a diet. salads no dressing, 2 servings of fruit a day a slice of meat everyday no bread, no pasta, and especially no candy and dessert no cheese sugar free gum is allowed 3 bottles of water a day and only 2 meals a day. I was wondering if anyone has anything similar or if anyone has weight loss tips I am a base and I'm looking to be a flyer. thanks!

This is the most toxic thing I have ever heard of. Average healthy weight for 5'6" is 120lbs - 160 lbs, depending on your body composition, not 100-105lbs. Whoever put you on this diet should not be coaching, and you will not have any energy to cheer, and probably not even to function during the day (learning in class, basic daily movement, etc) as what you described isn't even enough to fuel your body through daily living.

I will not give you diet help as you are a minor and I'm not a trained professional. If you really would like to lose weight please see your doctor and have them recommend certified professionals. They can help you ose weight in a safe manner that will also keep you strong not only for cheer but also for life and your future in general

That really doesn’t sound healthy or safe. You deserve to feel strong, confident, and supported, not pressured to fit strict numbers on a scale. It’s important to be both physically and emotionally healthy, especially as an athlete. I encourage you to talk with your parents, a doctor, nutritionist, or counselor about what’s best for your body and your goals. Please take care of yourself and get some positive guidance.
