Our team needs around £1000 to pay for a full sprung floor. We've already tried some fundraising like a raffle, bun sale, bow sale, arts and craft day etc. but we need something bigger that would involve more people in our area and make waaaay more money. Any ideas?

It's basically where the teams sell tickets to a big dinner type event put on by the gym, most teams in the US do spaghetti because it's the cheapest thing to make in mass amounts. Depending on how much you charge per plate, you could make a lot. If you require each girl to sell at least 10 tickets, or buy out of it, it could be a great profit for you guys. It's kind of a lot of work, but definitely worth it.

One of my favorite fundraisers ever--my youth group has been doing this for about 8 years and still makes tons doing it, and it's super fun.

It's called "flocking"...someone pays you to flock a friend/family members yard, and in the middle of the night, you sneak out and stick a bunch of those big tacky pink flamingos in their yard with little tags around their neck that say "You've been flocked by the (insert organization name here)! If you would like us to come remove the flamingos, pay by donation, and call (insert head persons number). If not, enjoy their company, and we'll come gather them up in a week!

So you get the donation from the person ordering the "flocking," usually a donation to have them removed, an you can even add in something like, "for an extra donation, find out who flocked you and get them back!" Type of thing. It's perfect if there's a celebration at the household (when my little cousin was born, we flocked their house and added an "it's a boy!" Sign, we've done birthday signs, etc. and it's just a fun little harmless prank. We all got really into it when we did it--dressing up in all black, sneaking around developments, just having fun!

YES! During childhood cancer awareness month, in my neighborhood we had a HUGE golden toilet that people would donate money to the people to have put in someones yard. If you donated a certain amount they removed it asap and if you donated a little more they moved it to whoever's house you wanted! if you didn't donate they picked it up in a week! i loved it!

The youth group does it at least every year...not only do the kids love it, but the older adults LOVE joking around an pranking each other! We started using it to raise money for the ELCA national gathering. It's about $1000 per kid minimum ( or it was when I went) and we've sent no less than a group of 6. So it definitely brings money in without that feeling like you're begging people to give you money haha.

We did a Vera Bradley bingo last year for field hockey and made well over $4,000. We do one every year and always have enough money to send a ton of youth girls to camp for the summer.

It's really simple! We had girls go around to local companies and ask if they would like to sponsor a bag. And also some local Vera Bradley stores donated. And we always try to get at least 12 bags. Some come with more then one, like a bigger tote could come with a little wallet and that would be considered 'game 1'.

And not only did we have bags we also had gift cards, that I think were $100? And we had Chinese auctions and door prizes. Which the girls on the team supplied.

For door prizes my mom and I just went to the dollar store and got some stuff from there and then just put it in a bag with some ribbon and bam you have a door prize. The way we did door prizes is we gave out to tickets to the girls (to be able to get into the bingo.) and then they sold them. We charged $8 per ticket. Or you could buy a ticket at the door or if you already had one you were good to go. And right when you walked in we had girls stationed at the door ready to take your ticket and write your name on the back for door prizes.

For Chinese auction, every girl brought in a basket. There were movie baskets, spa baskets, and even a Victoria Secret basket.:cool: Hahaha. You just want to be creative with the baskets. We had girls selling raffle tickets at the door for I think like $1 for 5, or $2 for 10, or something like that. And then we had big tables set up with the baskets on them and little bags in front of each basket. And you just put one ticket in the basket and held onto the other and you were good.

As far as the bingo goes it was just like any other bingo, you could get as many cards as you wanted at the door. There were specialty cards and such. But what we did is we would do about 4 or 5 rounds of bingo and then we would do some door prizes and Chinese auction. That way we weren't stuck with doing all of it at the very end.
