Consistency will really pay off. When you stretch and do the body positions, make sure you do it every day. If you get into the habit of doing it every day, your body will get used to faster, and it will help you improve. Also make sure your holding the stretches for at least 30 to 45 seconds. When I was little and started flying, the first thing they made me do was get my middle split. Once you get that, you can pull decent front and back stretches, and over time and stretching they improve. I now have a straightleg scorpian and could pull a bow on either leg. But since I started basing this year, I've noticed my flexability slowly decreasing. So deffinitley stretch every day! good luck :)
 
i hope to really focus on flexibility this season im a little older (22)...my jumps are crazy high...maybe 5 n a half feet in the air...but my hip flexibility is horrendous! I think i will be eating/sleeping/working in a straddle from now until november lol are there other ways to improve hip flexibility besides sitting in splits? I'm not looking for an easy way out...just a way to mix it up a little bit...splits can get to be a little boring... hence I may be sleeping in them? lol (sorry 4 hijacking)
