You might have seen me in the early days of our cheer newbie ness.... We were the ones screaming like crazy people in the mini 2 awards when our team finished 8 of 9. We were absolutely excited a) because it was the END of our season and b) we actually beat one team.....which was amazing for that year it hadn't happened anywhere.I went...it's not that great. I went in 08/09 and it was so underwhelming. You compete one day, and the venue is tiny. Not worth it.
Needless to say, The program were with now opened its doors across town a month later and we couldnt get out of that glorified rec program fast enough. After 3 years there my daughter had a round off series back handspring. That's it. And it had to be broken down and retaught as soon as we walked through the doors at our new gym. 2 years later she's got standing tucks and layouts and we actually get to go to legit competitions, like spirit of hope, BATB, and cheersport nationals...rather than competing in every high school gym known to man. Yeah....that was a good move :) plus, my son decided to cheer and joined his sister. the gym we were with before refused to allow boys....stereotyping you know...and they are a "Christian" organization that didn't approve of male cheerleaders. Smh.
I have fond memories of us finals if only because it's the last time we wore that uniform.
