I don’t like ‘em. And I hate that phrase.
That being said, I do feel that the girls on my team who don’t receive an individual award still deserve trophies for giving me a year out of their lives to cheer. Between two-a-day practices, comps, fundraisers, community service, and games, this program becomes their lives. They’re doing much more than just “participating” and I want to acknowledge that.
