I joke around with the kids saying that they need to stop shedding, and that if I could invent a way to separate the massive hair balls I take out of the vacuum, I would make a fortune selling wigs.

Or when you clean the Pit, or replace foam in it, you would be surprised what you find in them..............................????? clothes, $$$$, toys, and I won't even say what else... and our gym is clean, as far as gyms go, but, the cheese pit...Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!:fro:

lol, i was wondering this yesterday as cp was making the "i'm gonna barf" face during practice. i ended up going in and pulling her out to go to the bathroom because i had visions of her puking on the mat.

As a high school cheerleader our mats are disgusting. We have been planning on putting every mat out and steam cleaning them, but it hasn't happened yet. Even putting the mats out turns hands black from all the dirt on them.

Recently everybody on my team has been getting sick with the flu, cold, stomach bug, etc. I have just been constantly using hand santizer and making sure people don't cough near me.

At my old all star gym, they have a giant vacuum that cleans the mats once a week.

Our mats are used by a lot of different groups and I don't know if they've ever been cleaned. I tried to vacuum our mats yesterday because there are soo many visible hairballs on them... but my vacuum cleaner wasn't strong enough. -.-

Parents don't really ever want to admit when their kids get lice because theyare embarassed but it has happened at at least 3 gyms I here in South Florida.

Well, as an early victim of this flu madness- I can easily testify that good hygiene and extensive cleaning are a MUST this year.

I remember when we finally started deep-cleaning the theater stairs at my HS. I thought they were black- apparently, they were GREEN. As in, my HS's first colors were green and white, and they'd never changed those rubbery stair covers. As they'd been in place for so long, they were black with caked-on dirt. SO GROSS.
