I've never understood why moms who are running their youth-aged CP's Instagrams intentionally use so.many.hashtags!? Is it trying to get them to be a cheerlebrity? A modeling contract? More followers? #cheerbaby #sassiestlilflyer #soannoying

Yes. I think they are seeking fame and hoping to be featured on the Instagram accounts of cheer related companies. Although, that kind of fame is worth absolutely nothing and I would expect to get paid by a company using my kid's image in their advertising. That's none of my business though...;)

(Speaking of models, though, I'm SURE you've seen the most recent local photographer taking "model" type pictures of cheerleaders...that's for another thread, though)

I keep getting likes in whatever my last photo is in Instagram from accounts that are of a scantily dressed woman who has no followers or one or two. They're like new accounts and I keep reporting them but there's too many. Has something like this happened to anyone before?

Yes! I delete / block the user, but it still shows up in the "likes."

Because I cheer in college my photos often get random likes. My insta is not private. The comments are the result of not having a private insta, you have open to more bots especially if you have a too many or too little followers.

Yes it is. meanwhile their followers are full of perverts and teeny porn accounts. It's disgusting.

Seriously, I don't get that in IG but do get the occasional Facebook request and suggested friends like that. Seems I have a friend that just accepts any friend request he gets and all of his friends get the trickle down effect.

Random likes and followers can be the result of "crowd fire" or a similar application. I run the social media (mainly twitter) for a marketing company and every so often, I find that we "followed" some weird twitter because of their hashtags.

I guess there's not way to stop it? It's just so random that they started up at the same time.

@5-6-7-8 when I report/block them, they disappear from my "like" list. I wonder why they don't from yours.

How come there are people requesting to follow and their bios are like:Susie Smith|Young hot beautiful single|click the link in my bio to meet me! And they have like no followers or posts???

My Instagram is private with 272 followers, which are all pretty much friends and aquaintances. I don't use hashtags because I don't want to be "Instagram famous". The point of mine is just to keep up with my friends, I like my privacy!

YES and nobody else I know has this happening! All the bios of the ones liking mine are like "hey my boy *kissy emoji* see me here for the night *link*". I think there's like 10 likes on my last photo from them -_-

I've been getting constant follow requests from accounts like that. It's at the rate of at least one a day. My friend told me she's experiencing the same issue and we both have no clue what it is. I'm not very active on Instagram, and my account is private so I don't think it shows up in hashtag searches? I don't even use hashtags really, so I have no idea why it's happening.
