Is There A Difference Between A Needle And A Spike?

Is there a difference or is it the same thing, and it just has two different names? Wondering because I was reading in a different thread about someone wanting advice on how to get a needle, and someone told them to pull spikes alot to stretch it or something like that... I always thought it was the same thing but now im kinda confused.. Help?

It's just a preference on what to call it. Essentially, theyre the same stunt

A needle in the past has been when a flyer touches the foot she is standing on and the other is straight up in the air.Younger cheerleaders seem to call a flat back scorp a needle.

I don't know why everyone is calling it a needle now. Back in the day, a spike was a straight legged scorp, and when the flyer bends forward and touches their foot with the other one in the air behind her, that's a needle.
