It’s one of the most exciting times of the year- we finally get to see the routines we have been waiting for since competition season ended. It’s Showcase Season!
Showcases are a fun way to bring entire programs together to show off their new routines, and kick off competition season on the right foot. All Star gyms, college teams, and high school squads are all getting amped up to finally debut what they have been working on all summer long. Think of it as a big pep rally FOR the cheerleaders!
Some programs are teaming up with other squads to make one HUGE showcase-making it fun day of cheerleading for everyone. ACE Cheer Company in Alabama is hosting over 50 of their own teams at “Meet the Tribe,” their annual showcase. In addition to ACE teams, they will also be combining forces with the University of Alabama, Shelton State, University of Alabama at Birmingham, high school teams, and many more to create a spirited atmosphere! Showcases like Meet the Tribe are a great way to get the jitters out of new routines in a low-pressure environment in front of friends and family.
Why stop there? You can do so many great things for the community while hosting a showcase. You could choose a charity important to your program and ask those attending to donate rather than pay admission. Consider asking for canned goods at the door as a donation for the local food bank instead of spectators paying-everyone wins!
No matter how you decide to kick off your season, have fun. It will be time to take the competition mat before you know it!
