Awe long as the Tennessee girl isn't from Clarksville, TN - then I wish she would of won!
The last Tennessee girl who won was from my city Clarksville an we have these signs still up all around this town.... "home of Rachel Smith miss USA 2007" or something like that lol.There is like a million of them everywhere!!

Evidently they weren't interested in having someone who would actually "represent" the United States...WI was the only one that didn't look like a porn star in her head shot....and since when does Caroline Manzo know anything about judging a pageant??

Alyssa Campanella truly deserves her crown, lets not take away her merits, she was preparing herself for the past 6 years. Plus she is the best Miss. USA since Shandi Finnessey (2004) taking beauty, poise, catwalk, and intelligence into consideration IMO. Aside from the horrible format that they used this year to select the top candidates, I think everything went fairly well.
Jordan did a great job during the preliminaries, but I think the reason why she didn't make the final cut was based on her runway, height and her state (these last two are only assumptions). Nonetheless, she is a very beautiful and classy gal.

Isn't Miss USA more of a modeling pageant and Miss America is more of the represent the United States/scholarship Pageant. I mean what are we expecting from a pageant that only has swim, evening gown, and "interview"....Miss America actually has a talent portion and they also actually talk about their platform.
They also typically always have "celebrity" judges for Miss USA, judging for this pageant doesnt need to be by some pageant industry expert. "Pretty". "Not Pretty. "Good body." "Bad Body". As long as a "celebrity" can grasp those elements they fit the bill. Anyone remember the Perez Hilton fallout that shot Miss California into fame....(or at least into her first marriage to a NFL player). Lil Jon judged because hes fresh off of competing on the Celebrity Apprentice.
So yes, Donald does just want another hottie to promote his system since that is what his sytem is about.. being beautiful/ "looking like a porn star". They need to pick girls that wont go to Miss Universe and get smashed in competition by some gorgeous girl from a South American/Spanish speaking country.
That being said, I think Miss California was pretty, and she was the predetermined winner from the start... she still doesnt stand a chance at Miss Universe...

Alyssa has all the chances of becoming the next Miss. Universe. I said it from the start that she will be the next Miss. USA and now I say that she will be at least in the top5 of Miss. Universe. It is all going to depend on the final questions and she happens to be a very intelligent girl. She also has that same "spice and flavor" runway that have led many Latinas to succeed. They don't need to look like porn stars in order to do well it is all based on how well they stand out among the other contestants. Rima won last year without being a crowed favorite, yet she still managed to win.
Miss. World, the second most important beauty pageant, looks for a more Miss. America type girl. It all depends on what crown they are trying to pursue. For instance, Venezuela, always assigns the winner to Miss. Universe and chooses a girl with the Miss. America style to Miss. World.
I do agree that some of the judges lack experience thought. Personally, I would suggest more past winners, photographers, pageant experts, and modeling agents to judge the pageants.

I wish that Jordan could have made it into the top 15 as much as anyone else, but Miss California in my opinion did the best job out of the girls on the stage. She was smart with the way she answered her question because had she answered it differently it could have really hurt her chances. Miss Tennessee I feel hurt herself with the way she answered her question because I feel they may have compared it to Miss California from a few years ago and the drama that followed. Miss Texas is the only one I feel got shafted because I think she should have placed runner up simply because she was better then Tennessee and Alabama. California had the best package for what they wanted though.

Yeah, she represented New Jersey at Miss. Teen USA 2007, competed twice at Miss. New Jersey but never won, later moved to California and represented Los Angeles. There are no rules against this as long as the candidate is born within the USA. I do wonder how she never won NJ. :)
