I know that they don't split divisions unless there's at least 2 teams in each division, and they have to keep the division as large. But then I know USASF also says that "For Worlds qualifying divisions at an event where Worlds bids will be awarded, an event producer may leave Senior Level 5 divisions split regardless of the number of teams competing in them," so does this mean they could have put them in medium senior if they were? Or do they have to be considered large?

I just don't see why a medium team would accept a bid in the large division? Or maybe Americheer is just wrong?

wow.. this is depressing. SE got last place last season

  3. It won't happen.

The entire purpose of the medium division is to bridge the gap between small and large. Any small team wanting to move up in size went to medium. Any large team that was having difficulty filling out a team went down to medium.

What you're left with are the 3 gyms in the country with no lack of talent.

It is possible. I was just looking at the program from Americheer. I know they won their division at Americheer (whatever they were in) and earned an At Large Bid. I did not count them on the floor. Perhaps they went large for this comp and are going med at others.

Could be - I am not sure of exactly how many were on the floor. But IIRC I heard the announcer same Large All Girl Senior 5 divivion and then both FCA Diamonds and American Elite competed. Just reading the program they are listed as Large All Girl.

  5. Were there any Medium Senior teams competing there?
I doubt they would compete in a diff division for their first Paid bid comp.

So question, can someone explain what rays have real quick?

Obviously orange is sm sr. What about smoke, green, and last year's "large senior" spice? Medium, small, medium? Small, Large, non-existent? I'm sure its on the boards somewhere but oh well. Lol.

Nevermind. Rookie move right there, the wiki solves most of these types of questions. It's small, large, medium.

Interesting. I am only stating what the program says and what the results page for the competition say.

I do know at times other programs have changed divisions at comps for various reasons. Last year I coached a team that started the year as large but lost members down to 21 but still competed Large J2 rather than cut that one person. That team actually qualified for US Finals as a Large team with 24 but come US Finals had to compete in the Small Division with 21. They wanted to stay Large since that is where they recieved their bid to US Finals and what was right, but were not allowed to stay there by the EP.

So it is possible that they - for whatever reason - competed in Large at Americheer while actually being Medium. There were no other Medium All Girl Teams listed as being there. Or maybe both they and AE were Medium but were listed as Large. Or maybe they competed Large there since there was only one other team in the Large division so there would be some competition and if they got the bid would add people under the Substitute/Alternate rules. I do not know however.

  13. The # of people on the floor when you win a bid must be the same # of people you compete with at worlds. You must also compete in the same division that you receive a bid in.

I hear you Rich. I am just throwing out things I thought about. There are people from FCA on here that could answer but I have no idea why they are listed as Large.

FCA definitely competed as Medium at Americheer and we don't know why they posted it as Large All-Girl. Because of the division change we are able to have a Small All-Girl Squad this year. The Big 3 rule Large Sr. and it was impossible to break into that group coming from a Small/Mid size gym where you have to spread your talent around. I wouldn't be surprised if Large is eliminated next year and then the Big 3 will rule in Medium. The top 3 in Medium better enjoy their year of glory.
