A tick up is legal even with the new high school rules about releases because if the flier starts with one foot on the ground, she is not in a stunt yet, so when she is tossed up, it is not considered a stunt until she lands in her lib/stretch/whatever. Am I right so far?

This is the reason a coed style toss stunt is legal if I am reading correctly.

So as long as a top has 1 foot on the ground directly before the toss, the top could perform a ball, an x, or a twist before landing in her bases hands... right? Cool

Yep. Just went to UCA hs nationals and they were talking about it. No high to highs, low to highs, or anything where you release the top unless she lands in a cradle.
