Uprising-Muse
Viva la Vida-coldplay
More human than human-Rob Zombie (actually has a great dance beat to it-just speed it up a little)
Weapon of choice-Fatboy Slim (sped up, remixed a little-perfect for dance)
Beautiful People-Marilyn Manson (though a team in my area had this for their dance this past year and i LOVED it-great juxtaposition to the dance/pop/etc you hear normally)
Burn it to the Ground-Nickelback
Candyman-Christina Aguilara (though not sure how you'd clean it up enough...great beat and movement to it though)
Young Hearts run free-Romeo + Juliet soundtrack (Kym Mazelle version)
Jai Ho-I've heard versions of this song, but never that do it justice. I see it for a very dynamic pyramid (Jai Ho means Be Victorious anyway :) )
Higher Ground- Red Hot CHili Peppers (this has been out for YEARS! why has no one ever used it?)
Rain-4 strings-again how has this never been used?
Starry Eyed Surprise-Paul Oakenfold another great missed
Suddenly I see-KT Tunstall

ok i'm done...for now.

thought of another one:
I Hate How much I love You-Rhianna (sped up, remixed a little bit and BAM-gold)

Viva La Vida would be awesome! It'd be really good for a pyramid.. And panthers danced to Jai Ho last season, and it was one of my favorite dances ever.

My junior 4 team had a movie theme this season and it was so original.

Tumble section was the "Star wars" theme tune and Pyramid section was the theme tune to "ET". They also had the 20th century fox tune at the very end of the dance section - actually loved it !!

omg i so need a video!

..for some songs to that you think would be good in routines. Let's try songs that aren't your traditional cheer music, but that could be pumped up a little and make for a good routine. Think county songs, Broadway (one time a team danced to One Night Only and it was super), Rock (but NOT Girls by Moltley Crue) What about contemporary Christian pop/rock???
Any outside that box music you'd like to see in a routine.
I would like see someone use Prince - Baby I'm a Star (somebody probably HAS used it, I just didnt see it).
shooting stars tumbled to the tina turner version in 09

I want to see one of the large senior teams (I have a few specific teams in mind) dance to the theme song for the Bad Girls Club. Of course it would have to be edited but I think the song would work perfectly.

Any Prince song would work for me. I am pretty much obsessed with his music and would love to see someone put some of his music in their routine. Loved when UA (I think it was UA) danced to him.
Our open team had the Bad Girls Club theme song in their routine(:

I am really into Everything Old Skool!!!! When you introduce music to the kids on your team, I always ask for suggestions.... Usually they pick the most current and up to date music, which could be a problem, since many others in the country are using it as well.. I am glad that I have a CD collection of 20,000+ cd's to go thru, and pick random songs on cd's that maybe many don't listen to.. Even picking Prince, or Michael Jackson, Madonna music, maybe picking songs off of the cd that weren't the most popular... Any song in any music genre would work if used correctly... Go Old skool music, but for the kids, you will more than likely need to give it a back beat of something new and fresh so they get it..I have made the mistake of picking music that I like, and the performance was not great, as they didn't get it... Had to redo the entire music...EEK!

Yup. As a life-long MJ fan I die everytime I hear "Beat it", "Bad" etc in a cheer routine (esp after he died). There was a HS here that even allowed some girl to moonwalk across the mat at the end...I felt ill.

Now had they taken the time to actually explore his music and not use mainstream songs...it woud've been a different story
Jam
Give in to Me
Unbreakable
his version of Come Together
2 Bad
Stranger in Moscow
This Time Around
Earth SOng
Another Part of Me
Hold My Hand
Monster
Breaking news...

Could all work in the right mix

Stuff from The Jacksons...
Shake your body

Lovely One

These songs by the Jackson 5 would work for Youth and younger teams
Mama's Pearl
Rockin Robin
Goin Back to Indiana
Little Bitty Pretty One

I thought that London Bridges by Fergie mixed with the actual London Bridges would be cute for like a Tiny/Mini team

Forever respect Top Gun IOC5 for using a song by Escape The Fate in 2010. I wish more teams would use more screamo/hardcore music. But im probably the only one :)

no you aren't! I LOVED that part of the mix! i actually just saw ETF in may. they played guillotine pt 2 and i got super excited. i've made my boyfriend listen to that mix so many times to hear how AWESOME that song is in there. I've always wanted a hard song for tumbling but never got it. haha

Hahah yay!! I was supposed to see them in May also but things came up (cough cough cheer). Im pushing for an a day to remember song for our tumbling sequence this year. I feel like its a happy medium! We'll see how that works haha

You are soooo on it!!!:fro: To me it will always be good to pick something out of the box!!!! MJ has been my favorite since I was a kid...I would use his music all of the time since he has a Vast catalog anyway!

for the 07-08 season my junior 2 team had a country theme and it was pretty good. maybe it was just memorable and good to me because it was my first year.
