My 13-year-old daughter wants to cheer on a D1 college team; how many years does she need to be on an All-Star team to try out for College? Given that she has all of her tumbling, jump, and dance, etc. requirements, I'm just trying to gauge when to start the time commitment and not have her burn out too early.

College cheer only has skills requirements, not time/experience. The level of the skills depends on the college (and how competitive their program is)! If she takes a break from cheer, you’d just want to be sure your daughter wasn’t rusty on tumbling and stunting skills before college tryouts. Burnout is definitely real, I know many an all star athlete who had zero interest in college cheer because they’d already spent several years in intense high-performance gyms.

Honestly, if she has the skills and confidence, then she doesn't have to have any all star cheer experience. Feel free to join the facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/477248759436485 for an additional resource about College Cheer.
Agree with this!!! My daughter cheered in college and won UCA Nationals her freshman year. She was an All-Star cheerleader for 12 years, but a lot of the team members were not..

Sorry that I may be a little late for this but which college was it? Was it a top Division IA large coed team like Kentucky, UCF, Alabama or South Florida or was it a team like Morehead State or West Georgia?
