Just getting home now and here is my NCA 2017 thoughts...
1.We are a program that always travels together and the entire program goes to every performance of every team. And as long as that makes most comp days I find it's one really important lesson for my CP to learn especially being a worlds kid that every level and every kid in the gym is just as special as her and this year we couldn't do that. Luckily parents Facebook live performances for those of us that didn't get there until Saturday night.
2. The grey NCA sweatshirt was only available in youth small by the time we got there. How they have an entire level not compete until Sunday and not have merchandise available is so strange to me.
3. I am just getting home now, that is 2 days of missed work and school. Not a fan of that at all and glad their 4 day experiment is only lasting one year.
4. The special needs division competing both days was fantastic, especially with the worlds teams, it really puts life in perspective. Also I think it was the only thing that saved Monday morning. The arena was half full and kind of lifeless even for large senior. Did I like getting a front row seat yes, but it just didn't feel the same.
5. Stayed in Addison and wish I would have the last 3 years. It was wonderful, not expensive hotel and more food choices than I have ever seen!
6. In regards to small coed CP's division, the top 7 scored over a 96. The talent in that division is unreal. I watched every team both days and truly was blown away. There going to be atleast 5 teams that any other year could place top 3 at worlds that may not even make it to day 2.
Hoping this wasn't my last NCA, cp is in full burnout mode. But this is the one comp I would consider to going to as a spectator, it's truly my favorite !
