NCA All-Star Nationals - National Cheerleaders Association
So they are allowing crossovers this year .
Given my northeast location, I am probably as concerned about next season as anybody can be and actually we are scaling most things back except for NCA, because it is that special. NCA nationals had over 1,000 teams register in 14 minutes this season. If the industry is screaming that making teams is going to be that difficult this season then perhaps a more honest discussion is needed. What are the contingency plans if we get round 2 in the fall/winter? What social distancing measures will be in place for competitions? Can anything be virtual and if so how? What will the refund policy be? The friends I know who are not returning don't want to sink more money into activities that could largely be canceled. And yes, the businesses that will survive this certainly have to adapt and I don't begrudge them changing to try and stay alive. Just hope they are answering the right problem with the move. These seem reasonable considering current circumstances. And its not a free for all. I think there needs to be more flexibilities this season for both gyms to build teams and competitions to recoup money. Crossover fees exist and crossing over is always optional. If you can afford two teams, you're welcome to do two teams. In theory, could help take some of the brunt off manditory fees. (They need to get the money somehow - doubtful NCA is going to be as big as it usually is this year.) Plus, helps gyms build teams and find replacements if enrollment numbers are low this year.
I think I'm ok with this. Especially since it's only for a season right now.
Yes. Typically NCA only allows crossovers to the same level only, so this is more lenient this year.Does this mean for NCA Nationals an athlete on a L6 team can only crossover to a L7 or a L5 team? For Summit and World’s and for basically all other competitions, a L6 can crossover to a L4 team?
5R could crossover to 5 (I believe 5 and 6 may still crossover just the same as it used to be). The other exception is 6 and 7 can cross. 4 could not cross to 5 at all, it wasn't limited to 5 or less.Okay. Our first time to attend and compete at NCA Nationals was in 2019, our gym had athletes crossing over from the L5 team to my sons Restricted 5 team.
Reminder this was the year before the level renaming.
In 2018 my sons L4 team was planning to go but seven athletes were crossovers on the L5 team and the L4 team couldn’t go because exceeded the limit of five maximum crossovers from a Worlds L5 team.
It was not different last year than its been for a while. Its only a little different this year.I think the crossover policy changed last year? There's a gym near us that has a ton of crossovers and they usually limit which teams go to NCA. I swear they sent them all last year.

Has any virtual competition that was supposed to be in person lowered their fee? I've heard they are the same but that is secondhand...As it relates to NCA, It's ridiculous yet I am ok with it. I want to continue to support them and am saving so much money by not attending in person. Also, that money was paid a long time ago (rolled into fees), I might feel different if it was new money going out now.For those going to NCA how do u feel about still paying so much per athlete??? I think it’s crazy!
