The light show was amazing! After every team I felt like I was at a Pink Floyd laser light show. The audio on the other hand would make some audio engineers cry. It seemed they were turning up the volume because the athletes couldn't hear the music but then it would blow out the audience. All they needed was some monitor speakers set up around the perimeter of the mat and it would have solved the problem.
This is reason #456 why cp's dad doesn't go to comps, he is an audio engineer and would have an overwhelming urge to go down to the booth and fix everything.

I thought it was fine from the "sidelines", but the athletes said it was hard to hear on the actual floor. I heard more than a few kids say that they missed counts because they couldn't hear. It couldn't see any stage monitors set up aimed at the floor, so it was likely louder for the people in the crowd than it was for the athletes. I never made it to the stands, so I can't speak for what it was like there.

The lighting and visual setup for the arena was absolutely incredible. Easily the best ever for any cheer event. I can't imagine what that cost. It seems that the audio was a little lacking, unfortunately.

Seems ridiculous that they spend all that money on sound and light, and can't spring for a couple of $300 floor monitors from Guitar Center to make sure the athletes can actually hear the music.

I think someone needs to let them know so they can adjust for next year. I heard from many competitors that they had to count to each other because they could nor hear their music.
