The only athlete I could see possibly choosing A&T over college cheer because of the new basket rules is an all girl flyer.I wonder if we will now see an increase in participation with Acro/Tumbling. CP is now talking about looking at Acro and Tumbling in college instead of cheer.

I think that number will be very small. Game day is HUGE in college cheer and I don't know of a single A&T program that participates in game days. My CP cheers college (SEC) and her team competes at NCA but I don't think there is a single person in her college program who would tell you that NCA Nationals was the top reason for choosing college cheer over A&T. You may have universities such as Louisville and UK which put a big emphasis on competition, but their game day is still a big part of their programs.I wonder if we will now see an increase in participation with Acro/Tumbling. It has to be the kind of thing you really want to do. Cp has a former teammate going to Baylor for it, and another is currently at Quinnipiac. Other than those two though, most of her teammates including cp tried out for cheer teams that included game day if they wanted to continue in college.I had an A and T program send me a lot of information around Christmas time including scholarship offerings. The scholarships were comparable to or more than that offered in cheer at similar institutions close to us. I felt obligated to tell my senior girls about them. All five of them and six juniors laughed out loud

Maybe I've missed it, but I haven't seen any complaints from the coaches who's programs are affected by these rule changes. I realize that coaches probably aren't likely to state things publicly, but even the athletes who are affected by these rules have overall been pretty quiet.
Out of curiosity, what do they think is funny about A and T. I do coach it but genuinely interested in the perceptions out there.I had an A and T program send me a lot of information around Christmas time including scholarship offerings. I never made any such comment, so I'm not sure why you quoted me?Out of curiosity, what do they think is funny about A and T. I do coach it but genuinely interested in the perceptions out there.
