No they are opening their own location. Vegas cheer is now flipped upside down. We’ll see where everyone’s loyalty lies since they waited till every program had tryouts and announced teams.
Disregard

I have some honest questions and by know means do I mean to be rude. Why exactly would a kid who is happy leave their existing gym to run to a rockstar location? Yes Beatles had an amazing year this past season and their international team finished 2nd I believe. Other than that how successful had any of their other locations been? I said it once before earlier in this thread and I’ll say it again, they may have good intentions with their brand but in the long run it cheats the brand in my opinion especially when results aren’t produced.
In some cases of gyms buying gyms out there is really no changes made just the same gym with a new name.
I heard Rockstar Cheer Idaho is closing.
2010 and 2011 are the 2 years I remember them having the flags at the end. They got 3rd at Worlds both of those years. Here’s my thing, even at their main location I don’t get it. Don’t get me wrong, I love rockstar, but even their main location has one win and a handful of globes right? It wasn’t that long ago they were fighting to make finals (my fave rockstar routines were when they ended with the giant flags and I don’t think they made finals then). It’s not like CA who has a 20+ (?) year history of being hugely successful, they’re a worlds program that is honestly still growing into their mega gym status. Why are so many people chomping at the bit to become a part of their franchise instead of Stingrays or CA.
I feel like their story is very similar to PCM 5 ish years ago and if I was a betting man I would say they will have a similar story in the coming seasons of many of these franchises closing or leaving to return to their old name.

The main Rockstar location has a fair amount of globes (2 this year alone) and their lower level teams are always competitive. I think most people look at the entire program and not just worlds teams. Many of the franchises have competitive teams. I would argue that Stingrays franchise locations (outside of GA) in particular do not present themselves well on the floor (I had to struggle to find a nice way to say what I have seen from some of their teams), and CA took several years to make the Charlotte location competitive at least at the worlds level. The other locations are doing well but nothing compared to the main location and I think that's expected in any business situation not just cheer. Here’s my thing, even at their main location I don’t get it. Big Worlds SpreadsheetThey had three worlds teams at the time I believe because each had a different colored flag and only one made finals each year if I remember correctly. I could definitely be wrong though it’s been a long time.
Edit: looking back it looks like the killers and Rolling Stones used to place higher than I remembered them placing back then. I stand corrected! Isn’t there a spreadsheet of worlds titles? I wonder what their glove count is since I’m apparently senile and had forgotten how successful they’ve been!
Killers had some of the cleanest routines I have ever seen in IAG.Big Worlds Spreadsheet
Stones did well until they switched divisions, then Beatles became the small coed team in 2011 and globed several times. I really miss Killers in IAG, they were one of my favorites back then.
Add Midwest Cheer Elite Illinois to the list of Illinois closures. As of Tuesday of last week. Letter is on their Facebook,

Yes, Tayler Easton! She's now a pretty active commentator for Varsity. I do miss that about FB back in the day.I remember one of the more active fierceboarders at the time (Taylor maybe?) was on Killers that year they placed at Worlds and she created a lot of hype for them here (not that the hype was undeserved, they did place third at Worlds). That's honestly the biggest reason I knew who Rockstar was at the beginning and how I became a fan.
The personal connection to teams used to go far when FB was more tight knit. I feel like Rockstar used to be one of the board's favorites and they "fell out of fashion" here even before the scandals happened due to lack of representation/people leaving FB.
Yes, and I think it was announced around D2 Summit. So like a month ago.The one that earlier in the thread was announced as a new location?
