@Just-a-Mom I'm watching a documentary called Jig about Irish dance and I can't believe how much crazier than cheer families these people are!! One of the boys they focus on moved with his family from California to England and his dad gave up his medical practice, just so he could dance with a prestigious coach/choreographer. There seems to be a lot of similarities with the sacrifices and the way it kind of takes over their lives, but relocating an entire family and giving up a multimillion dollar job is just nuts to me.

We own the dvd of that documentary. :) I'd say the craziness is about the same. I've not known anyone to move for it (I've known more people to move for cheer actually!) But it definitely is very similar the way you just get sucked in and before you know it, it's taken over and your whole life is planned around dance. My next 6 months is going to be spent traveling, trying to get her to competitions all over the US. But we love it just like we loved cheer. :)
