By any chance does anyone know anything about going into human resources management with a degree in psychology and a minor in management? I wanted to major in human resources management but my school doesn't offer it and the ones that do are waaay too expensive for me. Right now I'm a business major, but it's really just not for me.

I had to go to an outreach today for work. I ended up having to wear the mascot costume.....which caused me to gain more respect for mascots because it was most certainly hot as hell in that costume.

At one point I sat down and some kid started screaming "THE OWL IS SAD!!"

At another point I took off my head and children appeared out of nowhere....and I ended putting the head back on side ways....

At one point I was an owl walking around with a handbag and all of the kids wanted to know why the boy owl had a purse..... (I don't know kids....prob for the same reason the Owl keeps popping his hip out and putting his wing on his hip in pictures....because hes sassy?)

But the saddest thing of all was when I would run into some of my two year olds from story time and see them run away from me in fear....and I'd have to whisper to their parents that it was "Ms. Erin"....

For some of them I even lifted up the head and peeked out so they could see my face...... which didn't help my cause at all.

They're never going to look at me the same again.

My mom is making me choose between allstar next year or going on the London trip if I make All American. I want to go to London because I wasn't eligible the first time I made all American so I went to Disney, and the second time I made all American I was doing allstar and it was too expensive. but it's my senior year and I want to do allstar too. I'm not sure what to do :(

I'd do all star and plan to study abroad in college.

She was assigned it :).
I am extremely jealous of your geographical location. Venice and Vienna (funny that you mentioned both of them) are quite possibly my two favorite cities in Europe.

Believe it or not I have never been to Vienna :) But hopefully will visit it soon.

I would go for allstar, purely because I think it would be a more worthwhile investment of the money in terms of the time span (I assume the london trip is 2 weeks long ish?) and you would gain more skills through doing your senior year of allstar.

The London trip does sound fun though but I'm sure there will be many more opportunities for you to travel there in the future!

I wish that for once in my life I could do, like, a level 2 or 3 routine in competition.
Ahhh I wonder what it would be like to be so care free.

The thing about the London trip is getting to be in the new year's parade. I'm not sure I want to give up my senior year of allstar for it though. I wonder if I could fundraise enough for one of them so my mom only ends up paying for one? I want both of them so much. I don't knowwww

They're just as stressful as level 5 routines

(Just using your post as a jumping off point)

I feel like this is one of the biggest misconceptions about cheer - that any routine lower than level 5/6 isn't difficult.

Yes, to a level 5 athlete a lower level routine is obviously going to be easier, but if you are a Level 2 athlete with Level 2 skills then that is just as difficult and as stressful to you as a L5 routine is to a L5 athlete.
I always get the vibe that people think anyone below L5 doesn't work as hard because they don't have a "difficult" routine. But they so do.

(Btw, I'm not a cheerleader so I could be wrong with the difficulty feel of the routines so I'm making educated guesses here)

Yaaaasssss preach. Like just because I'm on level 3 doesn't mean I don't work just as hard. And I know level 5 girls who cross to level 2 and it's still hard for them. Moral of the story: cheer is a hard sport. Levels are there to divide skill sets and that's all

Reminds me of that Arthur episode...
I'm laughing that you brought up Arthur because the other day I was playing Scattegories with some friends and one of the Categories was words with double letters and the letter was "A" so obviously my word was Aardvark. I then proceeded to sing them the A-A-R-D-V-A-R-K song from Arthur and they thought I was nuts. So then I sang them the "Having fun isn't hard, when you've got a library card" song. Great show.

At my school (Pitt), Human Resources Management is part of the Business school as a major, a minor, or a certificate to go along with another major. My guess would be that you might want to stick to the business path and maybe be a general management major and take some H.R. classes like an Intro to H.R. or something along those lines and maybe have Psychology be your minor?
