So I'm really sad. I have an opportunity to work on the coast of Maine this summer and make serious bank (in comparison to what I'm making now) but I'll be pretty fat away from home and I'll miss my boyfriend :( I know I sound dumb but I see him every single day so only seeing him once a week would be really hard. Maybe I'm just over reacting though.

Speaking of prom, I'm wearing a red dress, would it be weird to wear red lipstick with it?

Do people there not consider Texas/Arizona the "southwest"? That's what I would call it. Though SoCal gets ignored.... In missouri we definitely consider Arkansas the south. I'd say that's why Arkansas has become a popular school for girls from here who want to be "southern belles"
At my school everyone's trying so hard to be southern and it's like... We are smack dab in the middle of the country. Hush. You're not "southern, classy, and oh so sassy" (order might be wrong). You live in MISSOURI

I live in MO also and I definitely consider it to be Midwest, but I can see where people would put it with the south. We are south of the Mason Dixon and were a slave state, although both the Union and Confederacy claimed us.

I am also of the belief that southern is a way of life more than anything. The small town where I grew up is in northern MO,thousands of miles away from what anyone would consider the south, but you could pick up Kearney and put it in rural Alabama and it would fit in just fine. Things move slower, people say we have accents, the whole town revolves around high school football, and we dedicate a weekend every year to celebrating the life of a civil war outlaw that robbed and murdered tons of people.

The part of MO @cheernerd5678 is talking about has a very different culture. I do think Como is becoming more like a typical southern college town now that we changed conferences, but I also agree that the fad of pretending to be southern here isn't cute. Oh and as a side note, I think Arky is becoming a popular school choice because it's super cheap. My best friend's out of state tuition to go there was less than my in state to come to Mizzou

Take the job. Once a week with video chat etc... Is very doable.

Haha I know! I'm for sure going to do it if everything works out with it. I was just saying I'll be sad. But you're right, we used to Skype all the time when I dormed at school. :-)

I would take the job! My boyfriend and I are 4 hours apart during the school year, which sucks sometimes but its manageable!

Are you guys doing your own make up for prom

One year my sister wore a red dress with a nude lip

The other year a black dress with a nude lip

Both times the make up artist did very dramatic eyes

For my prom I had a black dress. The makeup artist did more of a neutral eye color but then did winged out eye liner (not like a super wing but like enough) and then red lipstick. It matched my red flowers really well. She said she was going for a classic look. The makeup looked great but I hated how my hair turned out. I brought in a picture of Carrie Underwood's curly halfup/half down look...super pretty right? But apparently the lady used the wrong curler because it turned out more like waves and then she brushed them a little..no not a fan. I wish I could go back and just curl my hair with my wand.

Also speaking of prom, if anyone is looking for a black Sherri Hill dress, my mom is trying to sell it...although it's so beautiful that I don't want to part with it :(

didnt want to share this in the video thread cause of the language.. but is this how people really act now a days at worlds.

Sorry to take the topic of of prom, you guys: I am trying desperately to get my flexibility back and get some tumbling (my coach never properly progressed us through that, unfortunately). I was wondering, will my lack of skill in comparison to most ex-cheerleaders my age make me look less reliable in the industry? It's probably a stupid question, but I'm asking anyway.

@UCFKnights07 that routine and music were too fierce for life, and unfortunately I expect at least one person with that type of language at every event I go to. It's disgusting.
