Sorry double post, but saw this on facebook. Seems like MTV is looking for a cheer team for their show Made (well assuming it's for that show, is it even still on?).
Anways here it is:

"MTV wants to follow a unique, dynamic, and talented cheer squad and, with the help of some of the best coaches in America, make them over into champions!

If you are currently part of a cheerleading team in need of our help, we want to hear from you ASAP! Please email us at [email protected] with a brief paragraph about your cheer squad, why your team desperately needs help, and a description of the most outspoken members of the squad. You must appear to be between the ages of 16 -21. Any competitive cheer team can submit (high school, college, and non-school affiliated)."

Hmmm "description of your most outspoken members"

Why do I see Honey Boo Boo in a hairbow? Smh.

CP14 despises makeup. I was surprised she put a little on for her brothers graduation from flight academy. She loathes the extent of cheer make up from the depths of her soul and hair bows....psssssht. My godCP10 wears a matching bow for every practice outfit she has.... Totally freaking adorable...My CP14 will wear them on competition day only because they're required. She's so ungirly :)

Hahaha this is idp all day. She comes off stage and is already pulling the pins out of her wig as she's walking to me. Before I can even hug her she's got her back to me and is like, "Can you unpin and unzip my dress"? She is definitely NOT girly. (unlike cp19 - the reigning Queen of Black Eyeliner... Sigh. It's feast or famine with my kids)

OK. I just gotta know... What's with wearing make-up to practice? (for both cheer and dance)

I'm not talking everyday make-up that you wear anywhere... I'm talking full blown competition make-up. I keep seeing this on Facebook, Twitter, etc. - pictures of kids heading off to practice and they have red lipstick, glittery/smoky eyes, etc. What in the world? These kids usually range in age from 6 to 12.

I get it for camp and choreo (I mean... I really don't, but at least that's a "special practice") but for regular, weekly practice? Just... Why? (and pleeeeeeeease don't tell me it's so they "get used to wearing it" - that's nonsense. No one does that)

Seriously... Stop it.

It has to be the moms. When I watch "Get Ready with Me: Cheer Practice" videos on YouTube, the makeup is clean, natural and subtle. And these are 13-14 year olds. I don't think a six-year-old would wear that type of makeup to practice unless someone else were to put it on them (not saying that they didn't ask for it, but still).

By the way, I think falsies should be banned. Those push it for me. Why can't people copy Orange and Senior Elite's Makeup look? Or, if they really want heavy but appropriate makeup, use the Lady Bullet look from Worlds 2014.

She's adorable! I hope she becomes a make-up artist because my eyeliner did not look that good at 13! Love that she wants to wear red lipstick daily, I'm obsessed with lipstick. Remove the lipstick and it's exactly how I used to do my make up everyday, but after working at Abercrombie and not being able to wear eyeliner, I realized that I actually don't look as much as an alien w/o eyeliner as I thought. So because of that my daily is just mascara and blush hahaha.

I think she's pretty awesome. Her cheer make-up was pretty bad until she suggested I let her apply it during last season. Hahaha!

This reminds me of something funny that happened at her student-led conference at the end of last year. She is very bright and gets good grades. She was worried that her teacher would poo-poo her desire to work as a make-up artist, so at the last minute, she decided to say that she wants to coach cheerleading as a job. To my daughter's dismay, her teacher replied, "Cheerleading is hobby, NOT a job." Oops.

When I was younger, I was a baton twirler, and my teacher always made us put on bright red blush, dark eyeliner, and red lipstick. Being 7, I always thought it was fun to get made up for performances but as soon as it was over, I wanted it gone. I hated going in public with that all over my face. So I guess I'm that perfect in between. I love makeup and I love putting it on but I'm not like "red lips for cheer! Cat eyes for dance!" (It also helps that one of my weekly cheer practices is at 10 AM) if these girls are going to see me during the 11 PM practices the night before competition, then they can see me without makeup

Haven't they done an episode like that already. They took some small cheer team and tried to help them win nationals or something I can't remember exactly. It had to be years ago when they did that episode though.

Lol my grandma told me that Honey Boo Boo said something on her show about starting cheerleading...

I accidentally saw that episode. I don't know how. I think I just had it on after the Kate Plus 8 special. Anyway. She went to like some little cheer camp at some sort of cheer facility and learned some sort of cheerleading desk with poms. And I think she did a thigh stand. And they mentioned (one of the sisters...skunk or weasel whatver they're named) that she was a base.

They've done a a few!

I will be working with a handful of deaf high school cheerleaders tomorrow and Tuesday. I am pretty nervous, but there will be an ASL interpreter there so I am hoping for the best! If anybody has tips I would be more than happy to take them. I know it will be challenging but I'm blessed to have this opportunity :)

Side note: does anybody know of any quick games/ice breakers/etc. that could work for only 3 to 5 girls with limited to no hearing? I know tons of games, but not for that small of a group.

Learn some of the ASL signs. It will help, you and they will appreciate the effort. Hope it went (goes) well.

Thanks! My first day was today and it went really well! I did learn some ASL, like "stunt," "liberty," "water," "spotter," "from the top," and some others that were pretty useful to me. I think I know all of the girls' name signs too. My interpreter is GREAT so there was very little frustration. It's a very, very humbling experience! Can't wait to go back tomorrow!! :D
