I'm sorry your friend did that, especially since it's something that's very important to you. Really goes to show what kind of friend she is - that she'd pick some party over supporting you. My friends do that too and it literally drives. Me. Crazy. It's one of my biggest pet peeves. I get my hopes up so easily so that makes it worse. Have you ever seen Aziz Ansari's bit on making plans with friends? It's so accurate.

Oh no sorry! How do I fix that?@Mndl did you mean to rate this as bullying?
Haha it's not big deal I was just confused! I think you just unclick the rating [emoji4]Oh no sorry! How do I fix that?
We did an email RSVP for each of my daughters' bat mitzvahs. It not only saved us money because we did not have response cards and envelopes printed and then stamped, but we liked that we were using less paper and contributing a little less to environmental clutter. I think that has become a lot more common around here for parties in general.Ugh don't even get me started! My cousin (she's 27) is getting married in August to a guy she's only been dating a year (to each their own - I know) but her whole wedding process has been driving me nutty! 1) she didn't send out a save the date 2) her wedding invite was something from Tinyprints basically, with a picture of them from ANOTHER wedding on the invite 3) she had an RSVP via e-mail. 4) she asked me if I could sit at the door of her reception, tell people were to sit, and guard her card box... hi? thats what table cards are for (don't be lazy, or just have it open seating) AND if you think someone is going to steal your card box - don't invite them to your wedding!! Once again, I know each person has their own opinions and ideas, but this is just the most absurd wedding I've ever hear dof.
Also, she knows I do photography on the side, but had the nerve to ask me to come to their photography session with ANOTHER photographer so I could "pose" them because this photographer isn't good at that kind of stuff. Girl No. Bye. If you wanted my work, you should have asked me to take your pictures. I'm not going to go pose you so another photographer can get the credit.
Our apartment was just treated for pests (apartment complex wide thing) last wee and ever since then there have been (live) ants popping up everywhere. Is this normal? This hasn't happened before so I'm confused and annoyed.

i think so. they're houses just got poisoned, so they all come out from hiding to try to survive... except they already ingested some poison, too so they should die shortly. if it lasts more than a week call your landlord/pest control people who sprayed, though.
every time my mom sprays, the centipedes come out from hiding and I scream/cry/threaten to move out for a day or two and then we're good.
But isn't that what a registry is? Asking for AND suggesting a gift? I just don't understand how asking for a vacation is any different than asking for a blender.
Ashley got it right with why registries are ok, and while you can mention them on wedding websites, they're usually spread via word of mouth. I can also google HBS/Home Outfitters/Macy's/BBB and the couple's names and find them anyway.
Not sure if it was mentioned, but most Honeymoon registries also take a cut of the cheque, and they tend to not give you the "gift" someone expected to give. For example, if you Aunt "buys" you a romantic dinner for 2 on the beach, you still actually get the cash, and if you don't use it on the dinner, Aunt might be mad that the money wasn't used in the manner she intended. Also, if you give $100, the company takes a cut, for example 7%, meaning you only get $93. Since 99% of people know that cash is a good gift, why would I want to give you $93 and $7 to some random internet company when I could just write you a cheque for $100.
Personally, when I see people asking for cash/honeymoon registry, they always get a boxed gift from me.
Yuck centipedes scare me. I had one crawl on my back once. It was on the towel that was on the floor. I now have a habit of hanging my towels up and picking up other people's that they throw on the floor.i think so. they're houses just got poisoned, so they all come out from hiding to try to survive... except they already ingested some poison, too so they should die shortly. if it lasts more than a week call your landlord/pest control people who sprayed, though.

I won't be much help. I wouldn't classify myself as a runner, but I do run about 15 miles/week. I use cardio trainer and it is all I need (definitely accurate for distance and time - no clue if it is for calories burned), but I like to bring my phone. I like the security of being able to call someone if something happens, and I like to use either Pandora or Soundcloud when I run, and I don't care about heart rate, etc.runners: do any of you have the garmin forerunner? specifically the 220? if so how do you feel about it?
currently, i have a stupid fitbit and hate it; it's not accurate at all. i still have to bring my phone for gps/mileage. I'd rather not bring my phone on runs, at all. and i'd really like to add in the heart rate monitor for more accurate calculations.. so it seems like a good fit but it's expensive so idk. i know there are lots of similar options, as well... so i'm conflicted.
