Resume experts: This seems like a stupid question but how important is your GPA/Dean's list awards in regards to your resume after you get your first post-grad/real world/industry job? Not that important, right? Especially since my awards/recognition relevant to my field come right after? At what point do they come off the resume?

I would say not so important. But it also depends on when you graduated. I think if you graduated more than 4 years ago you could take it off.

I just turned in a six page essay on the differences between The Prisoner Of Azkaban book and the movie...I'm a shameless Potterhead.

@AliciaM I am so sorry for all of the stress. I would lose it on that girl! Sadly cancer seems to attack the ones least deserving of it:/ prayers to you and your family! Stay as strong as you can for her, the more positivity she feels from everyone the better!
I know a woman who cooked meals for her family three days ahead of the release of the fourth book just so that she would have time to read uninterrupted LOL.

And I was sorted into Ravenclaw on Pottermore... never heard of HEX, what is it?

I've never ever included my GPA on a resume.

Because the real world doesn't care. Personnel does not care (in my experience )

I would include professional awards and leadership roles and membership in professional organizations.

I have had to submit transcript for my masters program only, but that was to show I have the degree since you aren't a librarian without your MLIS

Ahh thank you, now I feel more confident in removing it!

I originally had it on there to give myself the best shot at getting my "experience job" but now that I have that experience I guess I don't need it. I'm redoing my portfolio to include a few new design examples from work which means my cover letter and resume have to be redone as well.

So, adulting is hard around Halloween.

I'd really like to buy myself a nice new costume. I was considering going to a party as Black Widow (just because I wouldn't need a wig really...) or a Slytherin student (HEX got me like...). Maleficent would be so nice too, and I found a really cool costume. No need to say it would be so much fun to try and reproduce Angelina Jolie's makeup (right?).

But... my budget doesn't agree with that. We have adult things to pay.

Try eBay! I went as Pansy Parkinson for Halloween a few years ago and managed to get the scarf, necktie and sweater super cheap!

Its sorta like pottermore in that sence that you get an account and aftera few hours you get a notice and then answer a few questions and then a few hours later you get sorted in a house (I'm a hufflepuff as ive already stated but on pottermore i was a rawenclaw too) and then you can attend classes, spend galloneons (spelling?) talk to other potterheads or roleplay. its not as strict as pottermore was. you can do whatever you like as long as you follow the rules.

Joined HEX as well, not sorted yet. I added a bunch of you but I might have missed username unintentionnaly though. Feel free to add me, my username is Soaele.
