I'm working 33 which is more than literally anyone else except our store manager and assistant manager. Like more than sales managers even. I managed to get my birthday and Christmas Eve off thank goodness! I want to cut off my feet right now and I have another 9 hour shift tomorrow [emoji854] I just want to like lay in bed and relax for a day but I've worked every day since the day of my last final and I can't just laze around on my birthday

I purposely told them I wasn't available till Sunday when I got home on Friday afternoon so I could at least have Saturday off. It just so happened that my one day off this week that isnt Christmas was today. I know I'm at the top of hours for this week, but they tend to do that for regulars and give seasonal workers who don't really know what they're doing the short three hour shifts.

Somehow I, the seasonal worker, have the most hours. Granted I worked there over the summer so I'm not like a clueless seasonal worker, but still, there are regulars with less hours. Don't get me wrong, it'll be nice to have the money, but UGH my feet are screaming.

Thats how I am. I work during breaks, but I worked there for an entire school year before I went to just working breaks. They all still consider me a regular though since I come back every year when I'm back from school.

I called her as soon as she made top 15, no joke! My roommate witnessed it.

The saddest part is Miss Colombia didn't even speak english so she's just over there frantically searching for her interpreter to explain.

She spoke English (they showed her saying everything happens for a reason etc) and understood enough to know what was going on

The most entertaining part was how Unshocked Miss USA seemed. Literally unfazed.

Also I understand how Steve messed up and if they didn't have him practice reading cards then "their bad ". As soon as it was final two I said "watch them call Miss Philippines while Colombia gets no shine". He read the card wrong because it doesn't make sense to yell out the winner while 1st runner her stands there and is ushered away. Growing up I remember then quickly saying the 1st runner up and then the winner.

If you watch last year's crowning they call 2nd runner and then say Miss Universe Colombia and Miss USA who was 1st runner up gets no recognition.

Honest mistake. They should have had him practice

I watched the pageant too and found it heartbreaking. The fact that they ripped the crown of her head and then cut to commercials killed me.

I was also intrigued watching miss USA trying to explain what was happening. That could have been so awkward, but she shined.

My roomie is the best! It so funny because we talked about such silly stuff when we were chatting about being roomies and then we moved in together and realized we are so similar :) like we both love Harry Potter and a very potter musical (+sequels) which isn't nearly as common as just liking HP! And we've discovered so many other similarities it's like it was meant to be lol. Anywho we both left Thursday for winter break and today I got this in the mail! Tomorrow is my birthday and it was so sweet of her to think of me and get it sent to my house so I just wanted to brag on her for a moment because she rocks :)

So two of my professors this semester didn't go by the schools grading scale, meaning I shouldve gotten an A and two AB's. Instead I got 2 AB's and a B and Im kinda ticked. AB's are still good, but theres no reason that an 89.5 should be a B since the schools generic grading scale has an AB starting at 88 and going to a 92.

I hate when professors do that! I had some classes where an A was a 94% (the school's grading scale) and others where it was a 96% which was incredibly frustrating. Is an AB an A- or B+? For us, an A is a 4, A- is a 3.7, B+ is a 3.3, B is a 3 (and you get the idea). I wish we didn't do the pluses and minuses because they definitely hurt my GPA more than they help it.

I. love. her. I. want. to. be. her.

Okay my professor made it a rule that we could replace two of our exam scores with our discussion points. He said we would earn all of our discussion points if we attended every discussion and participated. I went to all of them except one, and my TA said it was excused/I could make it up by participating more in class, and participated in all of them. I volunteered answers for almost every question, led my group during activities, and always presented for my group. I got 151/154 available points and I am pretty mad because I have an 89.2 in the class and would have an A if I got full credit. Should I email my TA and ask if there's anything I can do to earn those extra points? I really want a 4.0 for my last real undergrad semester and will be livid if I get a B in this class because it's an absolute joke

An AB is basically a B+ or an A- and then same with a BC. My school doesn't do pluses or minuses which is nice because it normally works out in everyones favor (an AB is a 3.5 flat. Doesnt matter if you got closer to a B or an A.) I just makes me mad that a 95 is an A in one class, a 94 in another is an A, and then the schools grading scale is a 93.

I would. The worst they could say is no.

Also sorry for the double post I didn't see this till after I submitted my other one.

I got an A- in my "Media Communication in Society" class SOLELY because my teacher gave me a 75% on participation. 75%. And she emailed out how she was doing the participation grades and that's "average" participation. If I'm participating an average amount why am I getting a 75? And I literally raised my hand multiple times every class (an hour once a week, so there wasn't even much time to talk) and went to every single class. But she called on the same 3 people multiple times every class. I'm not really a person who participates much typically, so I'd normally expect average participation but I really tried in this class because she told us she would be hard on the participation grades. I don't know what more I could've done to get a better grade other than just talk without being called on. And I'm mad because it's just to fulfill a gen ed requirement and it's an A- on my GPA. I got 100% on every quiz and A's on two tests and a high B on the other, 100% and 95% on my two papers. My work shows that I deserve an A and this stupid participation is giving me an A-, and she won't let us argue participation because "she's the judge" -_-

I feel ya! I had this really hard capstone class and we did this huge presentation at the end. Our presentation was hands down the best of from the class (classmates agreed) yet we were in the low range of scores. When we inquired about it, the professor got mad and said one of the reasons was our rationale wasn't back up...yet this huge presentation came from four very long group papers...one being a rationale paper (that was straight up the title of it) which we got an A on....so how did we have bad rationale?!? Then he also has this discrepancy points...which he doesn't tell us what criteria goes into those so he basically just gives people which ever points he wants and doesn't have to back it up because "it's in the syllabus" [emoji35][emoji35]
