When you group an entire athlete base into one category, it's going to piss off the ones who don't fall into that category. There was an EP hosted competition for young athletes - the majority of those kids didn't randomly just show up to Daytona for no reason - they competed in the exact same location. There are also plenty of college athletes that aren't high or drunk and it's unfair to assume they all are, and also to assume parents are being irresponsible for allowing their kids near them. I find it far more irresponsible for coaches allowing their underage athletes to be drinking/ drugs- and any athlete to be drinking/doing drugs and stunting.

It doesn't matter if not all of the college athletes are drinking or partying. A large number of them are. That's the scene on Saturday in Daytona. It's really not suitable for kids. But I'm not a parent, and I don't really care if you choose to bring your kids to stunt fest, do whatever you want. Your 6 year old isn't going to understand what's going on anyway.

I still find it odd that any EP would host a competition that same weekend. I thought NCA stopped having that comp, who was running it?

I never said that all of the athletes get drunk or high. I also never said that bringing one's child to Stuntfest makes them irresponsible parents. However, if I were a parent, I would not take my child to Stuntfest. Just my opinion.

Also, can't people sneak alcohol/drugs in? Even if their coaches prohibit it?

to be fair, spring break is occurring right now in a lot of counties around florida, so im not THAT surprised that there would be kids in daytona during the week of stuntfest and NCA college nationals.

but is it really any different if you decided to take your kid to a college basketball game or football game. It can be just as bad as an atmosphere to put a child in.

Haha it was pretty big. It probably could've doubled as a sleeping bag for me at nap time[emoji14]

I'm really surprised that you two understood my post because I didn't.

Thanks for this. I understand why some parents would take that as a judgement. And I'm sorry if it came off that way. I'm the type of person who can see people's other side of things or their different views from mine So I'm going to take what you said to heart :).
Most of you know I'm native and there's that stigma of we're all drunks. So I can see that a lumping people together is wrong. Interesting fact is that I just came back from a training about this same thing (well sort of but within that type of issue).

What color of shoes should I wear with a light grey dress? It is short, has short sleeves, is loose fitting, and has some silver on it as well if that makes a difference. It's for the leadership banquet at my college and since I know pictures will be taken, I would prefer to not look stupid [emoji28][emoji2]

I'd go red to brighten it up a bit (think matching red lip), or silver/nude.

I'd probably wear silver. Black would make it too dark for spring, IMO. or when in doubt, I wear nude with everything.

Nude is great if you want to lengthen your legs. But I think a pop of color shows confidence.

I'm a little too happy that my copy of the Hamilton book shipped today and should be here on Wednesday. In my defence, it originally said it wouldn't ship until the 18th.

Niceeee :fro:

I just put my hold on it at my library. 41 holds on 13 copies isn't too bad. It's better than my Game of Thrones Season 5 hold I made... 3 months ago. 400-something holds on 105 copies. But now it's down to 299. "Raise a glass."

idk what the heck goes on at UCF games but NCA College Nationals was NOTHING like a PC game, haha.
UCF can be pretty tame compared to others ive attended, but people tend to get a whole lot drunker at the games now a days since ucf sucks so bad now....
Ive been to some pretty rowdy florida and fsu games though.

College basketball, probably not. But I grew up in SEC land and it's probably verrrrry similar to pregame activities for a football game.
