Omg, that sucks. I'm a red head and have been dyeing my hair for about 13 years (since I was 6) my hair stylist says my hair is really healthy and lightens good so I figured it would take a lot to mess it up. I'll probably get her to do it next time because I don't like bleaching what has already been bleached, that freaks me a little bit.
Is that your natural hair color in your profile pic? WHYYYY would you mess with that? I pay my stylist $80 every six weeks to achieve that gorgeous mermaid hair. That color is perfection. You should totally stay natural.

My hairdresser told me that if I ever dyed my hair she would personally hunt me down and kill me. Luckily for her criminal record and my life, I love my blonde hair and my natural highlights and don't ever plan on changing it. Although I love it a bit more in the summer after it gets some Vitamin D and lightens up a bit more. The more I resemble Khaleesi the better :P she's so BA.

I went to the hair dresser last week to get my hair trimmed and it turned into taking 5 inches off... Not that I'm mad, I just really miss my long hair. I hadn't gotten a haircut in over a year and half my head was dead ends and uneven from ripping chunks out from tangles so something needed to be done. I told her to take off as much as she needed to to make it healthy again. I will say that it's easier to take care of now and so much softer. And I forgot how good it felt to go to the hairdresser! But hopefully it will grow out soon.

ETA: @cheerextremehali - you've been dying your hair since you've been six years old!?!? Oh my gosh I cannot imagine letting my hypothetical child do that. Was it your decision or someone else's?

No, that colour was dyed. I'm more orange. I loved it but I look better blonde.

I'm like an orange red head and when I was a kid I was obsessed with Ariel and Jessie from toy story and begged my mom to dye my hair that colour red. I hated it and cried until she said I could get rid of it, but the only way to do that was to make it dark brown, and touched up the roots about once a year. Eventually my roots just kept coming in darker, it's now brown with and orange tint / neon orange in the sun. Then when I was nine I got the same bright red foils all over the front of my head, hated it then too. Since then I've been switching from brown with highlights/blonde to dark brown, and last year I did the red/violet in my profile picture.

My first Christmas tree on my own :-)

The same thing happened to me! I'm terrible about getting my hair cut. I just got my hair cut for the first time in 11 months and before that it had been a year since I had had it cut [emoji15] I had a short bob when I was in high school and I started growing it out during my freshman year and I've gotten so attached to it. I only had about two inches taken off and now it's really healthy but it just seems so short now [emoji17]

Can they just do that? Are you renewing your lease? I would have thought you would need to have some sort of notice at least! $300 is a big increase!
Yup. Our lease was up last month, so we're month to month. They do this to every tenant they have personal issues with. Our neighbor was giving three days notice to leave the building, and I remember watching him panic too. How rude is that..?

They're mad at Rob and I so I 100% believe they're passive aggressively "evicting" us. This apartment (one bedroom, one bathroom, no bathtub, smallest kitchen I've ever seen) is not worth 1350 by anyone's standards. I don't even have a closet. They know that we can't afford it and even if I could, there's no way that I would.

We had an incident with them a few weeks ago. They also owned a coffee shop across the street, and recently sold the business. They apparently told the new owner that she could park in our lot (it's an old Victorian house, our parking is the size of a small backyard). I was having issues almost every single day finding parking at my own house when I was coming home from work in the morning. I told her multiple times to not park there, and she essentially gave me the middle finger to my face. Sorry, as a tenant I take priority, so I had her car towed. It seemed punitive, but when I'm coming home from work at seven am to my house that I PAY FOR, I'm not paying for metered parking. Our city also requires that you move your car off the entire square block after two hours, which isn't going to happen when I'm sleeping.

Lo and behold, huge rent increase. Part of me wants to stay here just to give them the middle finger, but a much larger part of me is exhausted with their crap. There's no way they're going to rent this apartment for 1350, so I'd rather leave this apartment vacant asap.

I've been dying my hair for years, always switching up the colors. Lately though I've just stuck with black. I'm naturally blonde so the roots show and it fades really easy.
I never go to the hair salon and get it done because its just so expensive, but my hair is so thick and gotten so long, it takes 3 boxes to color it.
I'm really bad about getting trims. The last one I had was back in March with a new hair dresser. At the time I had brown hair, but blonde underneath. She kept going on and on about how well it turned out, how healthy my hair is for dying it at home, and said I should become a hair dresser.
I've always been really courageous with my hair, and I want to try a sidecut next. I'm just worried about growing it out eventually and it looking bad with my hair up for work.

That s illegal to give 3 days notice! Sounds like u should find somewhere else. 300 is a lot! If u do move take pictures of it the day u leave as the landlord sounds
Like someone who would keep security for no reason.

I'm fighting for the security like my life depends on it because it kinda does. I absolutely believe they will try to keep it. Our floors are pretty damaged because about a year ago, the "construction" crew (landlord and a crew of other meth addicts) collapsed the floor of the apartment above us... And subsequently our ceiling. They let themselves in to our apartment, broke our couch and never fixed it, and left all kinds of damage to the floor and windows. They took a week to fix it. There was also all kinds of crap that fell through from between the floors, like ancient rat poop and asbestos.

Wow, and I thought my place was bad. My landlord told us that the unit was "professionally cleaned" with the carpets steamed and everything the day before we moved in. There was still garbage and nails all over the carpets and dirt all over the counters, on other floors, and in the cupboards. The bathroom was disgusting, with a visible dirt pile in one corner. He also said that he had painters come in and re-paint. Later admitted those painters were him and the people next door.

LOL this could turn into a "Bad Apartment Stories" thread. My senior year of college, I lived in the worst apartment ever, only made better by the wonderful roommates I had (no sarcasm).

We didn't have heat during the NJ October blizzard, so it was between 20 and 30 degrees in our apartment at all times. On the million occasions that we called our landlord to tell him our heat was broken, he either didn't pick up the phone or his voice mailbox was completely full. He also didn't answer emails. We didn't have heat for at least two weeks.

Our floor slanted to one side, so if you sat at one end of the kitchen on a desk chair, you would roll all the way to the other end.

Our landlord didn't hire a trash service, so he had to come pick up our garbage himself. After a while he got pretty inconsistent with collecting the garbage, so every night I would hear a raccoon outside of my window tearing into our trash cans.

Our shower got backed up and stopped draining, which we had to deal with for several weeks before the landlord came to fix it. When I say "fix it," I mean that he tore up a few of our floor tiles and ripped out the drain, then left us with an unusable shower for at least a week.

@AllstarObsession I am so sorry you are going through this! Yuck! Bad landlords suck!! I don't know what the rules are in SoCal but in NY that would never fly! You can't list something as a bedroom if it doesn't have a closet first off. And why would he tell them they could park in your parking lot? In NY renters are protected pretty well, you may want to look into what the laws are for landlords in your area. It is kind of hard since your month to month but there has to be something that will help make sure you get your deposit back.
Want to move East? My husbands family has a three apartment house with one of the rentals soon to be vacant! lol

Good luck!

I'm 100% considering moving to a suburb of Philadelphia. My aunt lives there, it's cheap, I looooove Pennsylvania. Rob can't/won't move out of state though soo ):<. I definitely feel like an east coast person, I genuinely can't stand California.

The grass isn't always greener :P

I'm interested though, why can't you stand California anymore? It seems like paradise to me haha

Ugh that sounds so horrible. We have the same situation with the trash, and quite a few of us have cats. An overflowing trash can in the middle of a California summer with cat litter in it... I can still smell it, so disgusting.

The first winter we lived here, the heat was out. It hadn't been replaced in like 50 years or something crazy like that. Our winters are pretty mild during the day, but it still gets down to the 30s at night, so that sucked.
