1. That there "appears to be" a connection between certain tumbling skills and injuries is not very specific. Please release the data used to come to these conclusions, since the majority of studies I've read all point to falls from stunts, pyramids and baskets and collisions causing many more injuries, especially major injuries, than tumbling. Releasing the data would do well to increase confidence in the Board's decision.
2. If the concern about the safety of certain tumbling skills is so "critical and urgent" as to be issued outside of the normal rules process, why are the skills not banned RIGHT NOW? Come on, USASF, it is a bit disingenuous to say that you're doing it for the safety of the athletes, yet letting athletes still competing this year to continue doing these dangerously devastating skills. If they are as dangerous as you say they are, they should be banned now.
