How did you get that from what I said???
We do not, as an industry, dress children provocatively. Your alarmist argument is the reason we are in the situation we are in.

How does a full top legitimize us?? And who are you seeking to legitimize us to???
I am sorry but you are the one that said that consumer choice should dictate and not rules... so I am asking you what is the limit? And perhaps you should look up the definition of provocative : tending to provoke or stimulate: certainly that is what these teams are doing, as it is clear as these girls try to tug down these tiny pieces of fabric to cover what is covered that when they get mega small they do not assist but can rather deter tumbling and other athletic skills. I would say it is not my alarmist attitude but rather the attitude of parents who feel that dressing their young girls in less material and more makeup than many a Vegas show girl is the problem..... I just took your argument of consumer choice and am sincerely asking you .. who said that this rule "limits"... then where would you make a limit ? It has occurred in dance -- people using the name or art and performance as an excuse to dress young girls in next to nothing. And if you do not think that some of these uniforms in cheer are not provocative then perhaps you should take a good look around at what is occurring with uniforms now -- many have less fabric than an average swim suit... so when does it become to much? You don't think that some parents won't just stick with a gym because it is close, the like their coach, they only were the uniform once in a while, or countless of other excuses to make it all right to take it to the next level as their consumer choice. Should the rest of the sport look like they condone this simply because of consumer choice? Really I am not trying to argue with you as much as have a dialogue..... what is too much? You think the rules are limits so I would sincerely like to know do you have a limit?

What does it matter that I am from the West Coast?? I am also 39 and father of three I have been married for 18 years and I am a born again Christian....
The fact still remains the USASF has gone beyond its stated role and now is infringing on my business. What if my clientele does not like full tops and know through this regulation my business suffers?? They have no mandate to regulate uniforms other then safety and it is IMO more conducive to our sport to have a crop style or more form fitting uniform.

I said that because you are from the wests coast therefore you have probably seen Fierce's uniforms more then anyone in the midwest, east coast, or southern states.
If your athlete leave over a full top then well they didn't want to cheer too badly then did they. It isn't like they are going to go to another gym because they would have to have a full top there too.
They can change the uniforms even if they have nothing to do with safety. I would reference the NCAA again, but people seem to think that cheer can't be like those sports even though they want to become a sport themself. Do you think gymnastics has the rule on how high cut the leg holes on a leo can be because of safety? Does the NCAA make basketball players wear jerseys for safety? Nope I doubt it.

this year I crossed on a senior and junior team, so next year if i was gonna do that id have to buy two uniforms.....yay.

Actually quite a few gyms have another uniform for their senior "elite" teams ... even gyms that do only full tops for all their teams minis to seniors. I have even seen teams with girls who are minis and then youth have to change because only their minis wear full tops. Also the rule for uniforms originally said it would not be in place until 2015-2016 season giving many teams time to make the change -- 3 1/2 years. And, girls who crossover because they would like to do sometimes pay double uniform fees if the senior team has their own special uniform, girls who are invited because ether fill a need are sometimes given the extra uniform as well - depends on the gym. I think cheerleaders (especially those who choose to cheer on 2 older teams) are positively ambitious and driven young woman and could save money over the course of a year, two or three to pay for an additional uniform. Some of the older cheerleaders I know have run clinics and gone and taught simple cheer routines at cheer themed birthday parties, put up signs to babysit, offered to help in tumbling sessions for younger cheerleaders.....

– The role of USASF Committees is to expertly address specific issues of importance to the many constituencies that are represented by the all star community.

Okay so children are a part of the constituencies. They are in fact the main constituency because without them there would be empty gyms and events. How gym owners decided to portray them during a performance would be a specific issue. So how is that going beyond the stated role as i just listed their role above?

As an owner of a business that cares for and nurtures children as they grow into your adults, and your words "a born again Christian" I would personally think you would be in support of protecting children who go to gyms that push the envelope in how children in our sport our portrayed-- the fact that you talk about being a born again Christian in one sentence and then worry about your business being infringed on because they want our kids to have on more clothes and that will hurt your business seems quite the dichotomy . If you have good coaches, a strong program that develops skills and supports these athletes as they grow then your parents will not care if they wear full tops are not. In fact as I have said before you may even draw in more potential customers because there is a large base of cheerleaders and families that refuse to move to all star primarily because of things such as the skimpy uniforms.

The limit that you set as a consumer i guess...we already have a performance guideline at most competitions in terms of material and overall look so your over the top exaggerations would never come about.
What is too much??? I think common sense will lead most of us in this. I believe that the overwhelming majority of industry professionals want only the best for our sport. I trust them that they will do the right thing.

I have seen it and the kids and parents seem to like it....again I have been consistent in my argument against this..
I do not care what other sports do I am not trying to be them. We are All-Star Cheerleading...We are Creative, We are innovative, We are entertainment and athleticism at its best!!!

I definitely admire your persistence. LOL And I agree.......most gym's handle their uniform's responsibly. If USASF has an issue with a particular program's they should direct that to them.

A few bad apples....you know that saying!!!!

It is the fact that you think full tops are moral and crop tops are not, that is why I professed my faith...Full Tops do not give you a moral high ground....They do not magically bless your program with decency...We can have a theological discussion together later but for now I need everyone to stop actuating full tops with pure and good and crop tops with depraved and immoral.
And they come to All-Stars and they exercise their consumer choice and choose a gym with a full top and then our whole industry benefits...

I do, and I know exactly which apples I'm mentally glaring at every time I think of this rule lol :P And considering my love of apples and all the delectable sweets they go in (including my all-time favorite apple pie), that should tell you something.

I will say- creepers do not care what you are wearing. If you are in a short skirt, jeans, pajama bottoms, haven't shaved your legs in 3 days, no makeup, makeup to the max, bedhead, etc. If someone's a creep, they're going to creep regardless of what you do (although my kid still isn't going in a triangle bikini before the age of 16). Also- just because you are physically capable of popping out a child (or being a co-conspirator in that regard), does NOT automatically mean you are capable of making the best decisions for your offspring or the offspring of others. Nor does it mean that if you are unable to perform that feat, that you are incapable of making good decisions for others offspring..
