You must be kidding! That's so sad- coming all this way through the season and not being able to compete at Worlds :( :( Where did you hear it?
Ah, I hope she gets better soon <3
Thank you all so much for the warm wishes. It has been a tough thing to have to deal with, but the most amazing thing is how she is handling it (better than me and her mother!! LOL). Of course, she is disappointed, but she is being so strong for her teammates and just wants for them to go on and do well. Her reaction and strength inspires even me!
She was practicing her new pass on Sunday... a punch front through to double. She landed everything ok, but as she was stepping out of the pass after the double, she simply stepped wrong and roller her ankle. We thought it was just a bad sprain, but x-rays confirmed yesterday that it is broken. She is in a cast until early May. It's been hard, because as a parent I just wish there was something I could do. She's worked so hard for Worlds. I'd take two broken arms and legs just to take it away from her, but this is just one of life's lessons.
Please come find her at Worlds and make sure you sign her cast! She will be there with her team to support them... decorated crutches and all. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you for your wonderful support. I know it will mean a lot to her when she comes home tonight from practice and reads all of your warm wishes. I was blown away when someone told me there was a thread about her injury. You guys are all amazing! Thank you again!
All our love,
The Butler Family
