I'm having some trouble with a new pyramid. We're trying to do a handstand pop up to a 3-layer (level 6) pyramid. I have one girl standing hand in hand with her legs in a split and on each side I have a shoulder stand (holding the flyers feet). So far everything works out just well.
The problem is popping from there to the 1-1-1. It seems impossible. They give the flyer a pop but nothing really happens... except for her going straight down...
Any tips?

ok... um, when you pop the girl in the handstand, is just freely getting popped up toward the top or does she have other support from above her pulling her up?

The "shoulder stand flyer" who is going to hold her is trying to help and "scoop" her up, the other one is just letting go of her feet.

I'm not sure if I did this right, but if I did, this is kind of what it should look like..

Yeah I would say maybe post a video of what is happening right now because that is hard to tell without seeing it.

I know we tried 1-1-1 this past season (not really the same as you describe) but our issue was the top flyer wasn't staying tight enough going up and then the girl trying to pull up that flyer was standing up too early so she slowed it down and forced it to come down. We ended up doing a 2-1-1 instead

I would maybe have the handstand drop really low on the dip so that the outside flyers can j-up and then have the bases throwing that flyer in the handstand help with the j-up and throw in that direction.

I don't have it on video at the moment, i'll try to fix that next practice..
But right now not much is happening... It kind of looks like the bases just doing a power press with a tiny tiny pop.. if she even rotates she lands on her stomach (of course not on the floor)

you might need more power to help get it up or have like the inside flyer turn forward (if shes facing in) grab the inside hand of the flyer and help flip her up before catching the other flyer in the middle.

Thank you! I'll try that next practice:) Just dipping the handstand lower in the pop might solve a lot:P

and maybe have your middle flyer grab higher on your toppers leg and squat a little when they get ready to pop her up...maybe that will help with some leverage...@coachC2 s idea with a deep pop for the topper sounds good too...its so hard to make the transition into a 2 1/2 high look cool/effortless/unique...good luck! =)
