Rumor has been hitting the interwebs that the Worlds age is changing to 14. I am squashing the rumor when I hear it, but did I miss something?

that would be one of the best changes they could possibly make, it SHOULD be 14 anyway. 6th graders and 12th graders just do not mix well. not to mention the obvious boost the senior age girls have when lifting 60 pound 12 year olds...so over it.

Didn't they already release the age grid for this upcoming season? I can't imagine that they are changing it already.

Please, please, PLEASE, let this be true and not be some horrible rumor to get all of our hopes up, only to have them come crashing down....

The way I heard it was it came across one of cp's friends pages. He's an 11 year old with a double double and posted he was upset that the age changed to 14. A gym owner commented on the post but didn't say if it was false. This poor kid thinks he is ineligible for Worlds. I would love for the age to go up to 14 after some of the tweets I got Sunday night but don't like seeing a little kid upset if it's just a rumor.

I don't know if this is a change from previous season, but right now USASF under Worlds 2012 has listed for International Open 5 the minimum age of 14. As I said before I don't know if this is a change. http://usasf.net/worlds/2012/

thats not a change, international is 14+ right now

I was 12 and in 8th grade..late birthday? so not all 12 years are in 6th grade. i know a girl who is 11 and in 8th grade.

This would be such a blessing. My cp is "Worlds-eligible" as of this coming season and I KNOW, though her body might be ready, her mind is not. Maybe I can keep my fingers crossed for 2012-13 age grid change?

so if it does change, wouldnt that suck if you went to worlds this year as 12 years old and then next year you cant go!!

I mean there are some mature 6th graders who are miniature Maddie Gardners out there.
I don't see why people shouldn't be allowed on a senior team if they meet the potential.
