Don't worry, I thought the same exact thing. To all the people thinking; "How awful for all these republican parents to have their child perform at a democratic event!" First of all people, just because they were invited to put on a show, doesn't mean they will vote for Obama, even if they do, who cares, it's their business. Also, with just about all the girls being in high school, I guarantee they couldn't care less about politics and a good 95% of them can't even vote, most likely. They were invited to represent their state and their sport and do what they do best.Maybe it's my naivete, but politics never even entered my mind when I first read this thread. I figured it was just something being done to showcase and honor the athletes of the region. I was just hoping it would be to show off their athleticism and not to have them up there are stereotypical sideline cheerleaders.

Do politics have to be brought into everything? :banghead:

I don't think that's what most people were thinking. I think they were thinking it was odd of a cheer gym to take a political stance and take their girls to a rally in support of a specific party. I was thinking, how uncomfortable for the girls who might not necessarily share in in the Democratic parties' views. Believe it or not, some high schoolers do care about politics, and many of the girls on that team might be old enough to vote in the next election. While I'm pro-Democrat, some of the girls I cheer with might not be, and if we were in SE's place, I could empathize with themDon't worry, I thought the same exact thing. Oh trust me I know some high schoolers who are VERY into politics... lolI don't think that's what most people were thinking. We were huge political junkies when I was in high school. We would wait for days for the pony express to bring political news.
Anyway, I'm guessing the Democrat Party invited them because CEA Senior Elite will probably draw a bigger crowd than the 2012 ticket.
