Must be a CA thing as we all used it. The team rep could start a group chat and add all the athletes, coaches, and parents. It's how we sent out group messages. People can respond or 'like' your message and you know they've seen it. You can have one for athletes only, parents only, or parents and athletes. It's a lifesaver!

My mom was team mom and used it as well

Teamsnap is great. Each family gets an account (I think) and there is an app for it too. But your account can only be logged into the account one device at a time :/ but they do notify you when a practice is changed and there is a schedule :D

We have multiple ways of communicating to ensure everyone is getting the message. My team mom will send out a group text. I inform athletes of upcoming evens or rescheduling. We have a private Facebook group like many have mentioned on here. We also use a free app called WhatsApp. Basically it is a group chat. I have one set up for my kids and one for my parents. All information is also relayed through there. Both group are moderated by a coach to avoid any drama, but the group chats are dual purposed because they give the kids a chance to bond with one another (parents with each other as well), and its another way to insure everyone is getting a message. You are likely to have heard any news 5+ times across multiple mediums. Eliminates the "I didn't know excues"

oh and we have a team mom for level 6! she sends us emails & group chats us
