And apparently meth and/or crack abuse isn't just rampant within the population of the student bodies of schools...those coaches are high, too. I feel like writing a strongly-worded letter to them...
Tell Jenee not to hate the girls that made the team. Cuz then she'll go all goth and "hate cheerleaders" (and Mondays) and then when she gets older and has a kid, her kid will want to cheer and Jenee will be "THAT Mom," and that's completely non-sanctioned by NACP.
But really, remind her how she'll have that much more time to devote to the team she loves, that loves her, and that WE love. And I could give darn about her high school team. The fact that I love the team she DID make really is saying something, since I'm a random mom from VA. :)
Hugs! xoxo

Tell your daughter a Shooting Star tried out and didn't make her high school team. This girl is one of the BEST tumblers on the whole team too. (Which is obviously saying tons).
A girl at my high school cheered all star (level 3) and she tried out and didn't make it. It wouldn't be that weird, except my school doesn't tumble or stunt (at all, not even round offs and halfs).

I would take SMOED over ANY high school team. THE CHEERLEADING WORLDS vs. side of a basketball game...tough choice :rolleyes:

My cp could tell Jenee a few stories about not making high school teams, all because she was "over-skilled"???
High school team or not, Jenee is on Smoed and is kicking some butt! Remind her that now she has more time to devote to the team, gym and sport that loves her! And if she wants to try out next year, great! If not, that's great too! Mostly just remind her, when life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have a 1000 reasons to smile! And my cp personal favorite, curtsey of Patty Ann, when someone says you can't, honey, you make that your reason for living! Hugs from us!

Maybe she's lucky not to be involved with it!
I did one year of high school cheer. Long story short, I ended not going back. A couple years later, I realize that that year of school cheer didn't help me at all.. I actually developed really bad habits from it. Allstar is really what helped me progress. With zero focus on school cheer, I could focus on allstar and get farther as an athlete the next season.. and 2 more after that. I've seen soo many girls in pop warner, middle school, and high school programs start out great on their allstar team in May then develop weird habits on their other teams that are not helpful to their allstar team whatsoever. As soon as those programs end, the bad habits fade away and they are stronger asset to the allstar team. Tell Jennee to focus on what's really important.. Jackets, globes, and rings (;
