Fall is our favorite season here at The Sparkle Effect, and this year is no exception!
We have so many reasons to be thrilled. First, of course, is the amazing success that both our debuting and veteran teams have experienced during football season! We love hearing about how our teams pump up the crowd, support their athletes, and continue to encourage inclusion throughout their communities! We’ve been able to share some of their stories in the latest issue of American Cheerleader magazine. Be sure to check it out!
We’ve also received the fantastic news that a couple girls who ran inclusive programs in high school are now going on to start college-based teams at Boise State and the University of Wisconsin at Platteville! We are so blown away by their dedication to the mission of The Sparkle Effect.
In other exciting news, L’Oreal Paris recently named me a “Woman of Worth,” an award that recognizes ten women annually that are “making a beautiful difference in the world.” Beginning November 5th, each honoree will have the opportunity to compete for $25,000 for her charity. The winner will be decided through a national public vote.
This is where you come in! Starting November 5th, you can log on to www.womenofworth.com to cast your vote for The Sparkle Effect. Every vote counts, so you can (and should!) vote once per day!
Winning $25,000 will allow The Sparkle Effect to continue to provide uniform grants and personalized on-site training to our quickly-growing number of inclusive teams. (To date, we’ve generated close to 80 teams nationwide!) It will also allow us continue educating the nation about the benefits of inclusion through a documentary about the successes of our amazing teams.
Last year, cheerleaders across America rocked the vote and helped The Sparkle Effect bring home the grand prize at the Do Something Awards. Let’s do it again this year. We’ll show the nation what kind of people cheerleaders and dancers really are; we’ll prove what we’re capable of.
