Yes you register but who is stop me from saying little 5 year old Sally Walker is really 9 year old Sally Smith? If we register through the USASF then the athlete will be in the system for life. So it will be more difficult for them to lie. As the registration will follow the athlete throughout their career. It's not foolproof but will stop a lot of this.

Well if they didn't charge $25 per kid maybe more people would do the full registration... But that's exorbitant. They need to want us to register to keep the integrity of the sport. Not to make a huge kick back. Just my opinion!

This year is free. The $25 is for worlds only. I have no pro ken with paying as long as we see where the money goes. The USASF reps do a lot of work.

True! Some of them are awesome! Some of them I couldn't get a hold of if I paid them.... So maybe if they took all that cash, they could hire a few more people? That's just a thought:.: cause maybe they're just super over worked and that's why I have such a tough time finding any of them. One rep per coast just isn't enough. We need one per zone on each coast, I think. So we can go to them and it can feel like that actually know who we are. There's no way to have a personal relationship with so much they have to do! Ok rant over.

But on a serious note, are they requiring the full registration now? It keeps changing so I never know...

I heard that little Sally Walker was walkin down the street...

Didn't know what to do, so she stopped in front of me...
:shimmy:

Hey girl, do your thing... do your thing... now switch!

Sorry. I have been brainwashed by an 8 year old, and cannot help myself.

thanks a lot guys....I thought I had a few more weeks before practice started and that darn Sally Walker song invaded my mind

I feel your pain. Tinys (or even Minis) are a hard division because the kids physically shouldn't be doing the skills it takes to max out. I highly recommend going exhibition if you have a lot of thee and fours or you're gonna get crushed. Our gym always has a Tiny Ex, but we only have a Tiny Comp if we have enough five year olds to be competitive.

On Tiny Ex we really focus on rolls, jump technique, cartwheels, and handstands

But let me branch off and ask this...

While I will not teach a three or four year old a bridge, sometimes they come in with one that they got on a rec team.

What do you do? Do you tell them to stop? They've already learned it. But it's really not good for them?

I always put poms in their routines and have them some kinda song like, I whip my hair back and forth, most of the kids are happy with a medal and to dance. If you have to cheat to win at Tiny then your gym is in trouble.

As a mom to a tiny who was on a competitive tiny team last year, I completely agree with this. My CP (who just turned 5) may have learned how to do a BWO this past season... But she also never wants to cheer again. She just wanted to learn and dance and try hard and instead was told that second place sucks. Tiny should be a team to grow a love for the sport, not push for jackets IMHO.
