UCA was probably one of the best experiences for my team. On day 1 we competed at around 9pm and we went into warm ups with some fears, but when we went on the floor, it was the best we've ever done! Every stunt hit, all tumbling was perfect, and we were all (in a good way) screaming at each other on the floor. Our coaches were losing their minds and most of us we're nearly crying on the floor. Later that night we found out we were in 2nd. Day 2 came along and we were (whether or not people would say it) very nervous. We went into warm ups and had very few problems. We went on that floor and saw that our whole gym was there to watch us (this was at 9:30 at night, we thought they had all left) and the energy in that little tent was CRAZY. We hit another perfect routine and I felt as if I had won worlds. We went to the back to watch our video and we saw how amazing we looked. Our coaches could not stop hugging us. We went into awards less than an hour later. Although we didn't win (still placed 2nd!) we were very proud and honestly did not care about the placement because barely any teams can say they hit a perfect routine both days in a place they are not familiar with (we're from the PNW, battling east coast teams we've never seen before) it gave us huge confidence that we can come back in May for the Summit (we got our bid in february) and know we can hit! Now back to the gym to do some polishing work
Thanks UCA for a great weekend!!
