I don't mean to add fuel to the fire, so I'm gonna stay away from the "who should have placed 1st" argument, but I do have one question/concern...
Have none of the competitions that FCA Diamonds have been to said ANYTHING about that tumbling execution? If I was a judge, I would have pulled their coach aside and told her she's gonna break someone's legs allowing her girls to double (and even some of the girls that full) like that..? I understand needing/wanting the difficulty, but there needs to come a point where SOMEONE on that team does SOMETHING about that tumbling execution..

I'm surprised no one has torn an ACL (knock on wood)

Because when you name the team, even if you "censor" (which you did poorly) the athlete's names directly, it reflects negatively on the gym. I know multiple people who have been on diamonds/FCA or are on diamonds/FCA and they would have never posted those things to a social networking account. I know Jen (and multiple FCA parents) would never have approved of those things being posted online, either. We've had the discussion about this on the boards before. You can get the message across without using names. Reiterating the tweets like that makes you just as classless as the athletes who posted them in the first place. Those are the opinions of those indiviudual girls, not the team.

What do you mean you pre-declined any other bid? If you already have an at large you're not eligible for another one anyway...

Continuing to compete after getting an AL in hopes of getting a paid is different than not accepting an at large bid at all and then not going to worlds if you don't get a paid.

By not declining our bid from nca we had to let uca know that we are not attempting to obtain an at large from theor company...

The posting of the tweets of course reflects negatively on the gym, but that is the internet. Once something is on the internet, it is there for everyone to see. Even if it wasn't reposted does not change that it wasn't there in the first place. Even though you may know people who don't approve, the girls did what they did and will most likely have consequences. Trying to have it erased kinda makes it seem worse and bring more attention to the issue, don't you think? I have no care in the matter being from neither gym, but I do think the tweets being reposted is not wrong on anyone's part.

My issue wasn't with what the girls tweeted. By all means, they were wrong to tweet it and I would NEVER defend the words that they wrote. I've always been a firm believer that the team that the judges pick to win deserved the win, and if you're a sore loser about it then you deserved to lose even more. But the original poster said that those were the views of the entire Diamonds team. That was completely untrue and is wrong to insinuate. There were other people that were calling the girls inappropriate things and making fun of them. Is that any better? To bully the bully?

If I take some of the most opinionated cheerleaders from your organization immediately after a controversial loss to a huge rival, then ask them what they think of that rival, is that a reflection of the entire California Allstars organization? Are 4 people on one of your best level 5 team's opinions the opinions of your entire organization? I'm sure not. The girls in question have apologized and congratulated Ody, Suns, and all the other bid winners.

Trust me...I was listening...and I heard the coach of a team claim to be unbiased....which is laughable...say that the comp "sugar coated" the results by giving you a FULL PAID BID....hearing you loud and clear no matter how hard you hit reverse now...and please don't get all snippy with me...I congratulate you when you win but I can't let that statement go...it was rude and ungrateful...just saying

Disagree. This coach was looking for answers from unbiased/emotionally attached people. This coach was looking for critique positive and negative for the good of his teams. Judging from the comments of late it takes guts to post period. It is always important for the results to be correct local regional, to bid giving nationals, to worlds. What I read from the CF coach is UCA was important to his team... Something (though i cannot speak for you ) worlds bids cannot put icing on. I didn't read one ounce of ungratefulness I love his post because I've been there so many times and i love it because i miss the old days where each individual nationals win was a stand alone victory that could not be diminished in any way by anything later in the season. For the life of me i cannot understand why event producers who have worked tooth and nail
to develop their brand, determine their niche, and build up the industry with their creativity put up with the way our current model allows such hard fought wins such as a UCA title to be even slightly diminished. I didn't hear sour grapes in this post, I heard a request for understanding.

In short the varsity sheet in my experience was not judged with enough difference granted in any category to outweigh even the slightest mistake. More to your question: senior elite's a score jumped 2 whole points days two at NCA (granted the Routine had a great deal more energy) but on the piece of paper the 2 whole points were gained due to the addition of 7 pike open baskets and a pike jump in addition to maddie's stunt. Incidentally, I laughed with Joelle three hours before medium all girl competed at UCA (she came into the arena right at the pike open part and thought we were a senior 3 team). If WC added baskets = it is likely that had an effect.

How can UCA being at Disney World be a distraction? Worlds is there and we dont even go or think about Disney World. It's comp 1st and play later, as every travel comp is and I worry about people on our team who dont feel the same way. Stay and extra day and do whatever you want.

what's everyones overall opinion of this competition?
we are considering going next year and want some feedback.

Disney can be a huge distraction for many of the lower level teams with younger athletes on them.
1. The athletes all know they have hopper passes already paid for with their competition fee.
2. Some of the divisions compete on Disney Park grounds which REQUIRE the family and friends of the athletes in those divisions to purchase Disney Park passes to watch them peform.
3. Parents then feel like they have spent loads of money on Disney tickets.
4. UCA does NOT bump up to winter/spring breaks for lots of schools.
5. Parents and kids want to spend 30 minutes at the competition and the rest of the time at the parks.
