The UCA VARSITY site indicates there will be a Live Stream. Does anyone know if there was one last year and how the pricing was?

Yes. Bought it last year. It was a good feed, no hiccups, reliable, don't remember it buffering. Bought it to watch one of our gyms teams and was very pleased. Don't remember the cost but I'm thinking its in line with the NCA stream since its a varsity thing too.

The schedule was updated again... Not correctly, but it was updated! We had a few of our team's times change and one team moved from one wrong division to another wrong one! :)

That is the most up to date schedule I have seen also. It changed slightly from the original schedule that was posted online. (At least for a few of our teams!) I know there are still quite a few things that need to change so I would assume by tomorrow or Wednesday an updated or final schedule will be released.

so it looks like theres around 19 teams without any bid, and they are giving 5 paid and 15 at large. so everyone is walking away with a bid? I didn't include the international teams in that btw.

I think my cheer mom card needs to be revoked. My kids have never been to NCA, but the viewing party in our basement on the big screen was EPIC, especially when we got to watch one of our favorite former teammates and "second son" win large coed last night.

So, I'm summarily underwhelmed with the prospect of UCA and my kids actually ARE going to this one. We leave Friday morning...

... But I seriously can't even get into being excited about it.

This may be the first recorded case of a clinically diagnosed cheer hangover... And we didn't even attend NCA.

I am SO with you on this. Maybe it's the fact that it's crazy expensive for a team (if we're being honest here, gym) that's had a lackluster year at best. I feel like we will be eaten alive for a small fee of $456643. Well that's what it feels like anyway!! I keep telling myself that the kids are super excited and that's what it's all about...while rolling eyes & mumbling to myself. Maybe this should go in the Confessions of A Cheer Mom thread!

Yes, athletes sit trough orientation, get gift bands on the way out. Last year it was pretty nice drawstring backpacks, Degree body spray, and, um, something special from Tampax. Try explaining that one to a 7-year-old...
