All-Star Uniforms

I love the way CA does unis by giving youth minis and tinys the full tops. I
Hate seeing itty bitty girls in skimpy unis.

i don't see a problem with half top uniforms. they are really comfortable and can be done in a extremely classy way(ie. stingrays uni!). but there is a fine line that a lot of gyms have been crossing with the weird shaped tops and low cut necklines. i think we can keep the half tops but there needs to be less "over done innovation." keep the uniforms simple and let the talent show through.

I wonder if the people who make these cheer uniforms think about girls that actually need a good supportive bra. I know you can use the clear straps but they are not very supportive. Is there something built in that I don't know about to help with support- my daughter is only 9 and is so far from needing it. The half tops aren't as much of the problem as some of the cutouts that don't allow bras.

i know that the GK tops are supposed to be like a sportsbra, hence why they fit so tight. but coming from experience, they aren't supportive enough for girls who are "blessed" to go bra-less.

i would hate to tumble in a long top..i don't even do that at cheer. and i just think it looks better as well but not sooooo much skin showing
Yeah your right. I mean its like tumbling in a tight tank top...all the sweat would soak up and just...ehh it bothers me haha(: i think the only uniforms that have cut outs and stuff like that only look good on Top Gun (:

ya cuz they all have perf bodies

I don't see how tumbling in a full top would be such an issue, for a simple example, gymnasts train and compete in long sleeved leotards. As this level of cover is consistent it's not so uncomfortable, and they're able to be appreciated for their athleticism over their bodies.

Agreed competition leos are required to have sleeves. You are only on the floor for 2:30 minutes, suck it up! If gymnast can through double backs and triple twist without complain so can we.

We've hade this rule in Sweden for some years now (only seniors are allowed to wear half-tops), and I think it's been very good for the development of the sport over here. All young girls (well, all girls, really) should be able to feel good and comfortable in their uniform, regardless of body shape.

that would be so weird? so your stomach would have to be covered? like 90% of all star teams have half tops

This IS already a rule in Sweden, has always been. I think it's a good rule, cus the purpose of competing shouldn't be showing your stomach. Or to be sexy. It should be to show of your skills, and your skills are fierce no matter if you show some skin or not.

Damn, you beat me to it (;

Actually, it hasn't always been a rule here. I think it was added in 2003 (I remember tons of junior teams being disqualified at nationals for inappropriate uniforms).

Wow, did not know.
Well, I started in 2004 so it's before my time (;
