does anyone agree that the new uniforms are getting alittle too skimpy like its one thing to have cuts in the design but another to like not even have sleeves or anything

has anybody heard the rumor of no half tops as a rule from USASF? My gym coach was talking about it and I was wondering if its true?

yes half tops/crop tops show your stomach. no need to apologize! haha. & i feel like the rumor about USASF regulating half tops has popped up around this same time for the past few years...

that would be so weird? so your stomach would have to be covered? like 90% of all star teams have half tops

Its not dumb but the fact of the mater is on many uniforms it has gone so far past the line that you cant see it anymore. There is no reason that some teams have taken their shorts so small that it literally looks like underwear. Tops we have boobs popping out of them. What does this add to the fight of being recognized as a respectable sport? Why do uniforms have to be so small/skimpy/sexy? Normal uniforms are not restricting and show just as nicely on the floor and in my opinion better.
Lets face it chances are at any competition you go to there are going to be people who are looking at these children (lets not forget that these are children we are putting in these sexy uniforms) in an inappropriate manner. I am not saying we need to go all amish but why have we let it get to this point?
Where are the parents? I always think that there is going to be a group that band together and say no my child will not be having her butt exposed on stage. But every year there it is, your child up on stage in a uniform that if it was a regular alfit she through on to go outside in you would tell her to march back up stairs and change or there is no way she is leaving the house.
I know you don't want to be the one that says no but someone has to be because lets face it there is no reason or logic for uniforms to look as skimpy as they do. I understand that this put parents in a hard positions but we are at the point where normal bathing suits cover more.

Half tops to me personally look better then full over the stomach tops...like when i tumbling with a half top, i dont sweat as much and i feel comfortable and airy.

yea but most uniforms do have sleeves so when there belly shirts and dont have sleeves its a little to much

This is all so true i cant even shimmy this enough! People also need to remember that were athletes and not swim suit models. So if you need to pull down your shorts and pull up your top in the middle of the routine, your routine isnt going to look very clean. If your a good team then you should prove instead of getting the attention toward your team just because of your skimpy uniform.

i would hate to tumble in a long top..i don't even do that at cheer. and i just think it looks better as well but not sooooo much skin showing

Okay, I understand that some parents would not allow their kid to EVER wear half tops. I was just stating the fact that if that rule did become true, think about all the gyms with these uni's and how much it would cost to buy new ones in most cases. Also, doesn't USASF vote on issues or changes made to the rules? I know it is a rumor and my coach who is on the board has even talked about it but with all the gyms that have them I dont really see this issue being passed. I do agree that some uniforms are WAY too skimpy but I think we should have some guidelines, instead of just cutting the crop top all together.

I remember when only the senior teams got half tops and everyone else was full. I do agree that these mini teams need to be wearing full tops, I've always said that, but I haven't seen any teams wearing inappropriate uniforms. I think they are classy and stylish, but skirts are a problem for some. I'm tired of seeing spankies throughout the whole routine.
